New Christmas Music For 2023

For Christian music fans, there is plenty to choose from if you’re looking for fresh new Christmas music this holiday season.

Top CCM artists from Lauren Daigle, Michael W. Smith, TobyMac, We The Kingdom, Mac Powell, Tasha Layton and Sarah Reeves along with gospel artists JJ Hairston and Melvin Crispell III and Southern Gospel artists Jeff & Sheri Easter have new releases out already or coming soon.

Here is a list of what to keep an eye out for to help you celebrate the season in music.

Michael W. Smith: "Every Christmas”

Smitty's new full-length Christmas album includes 6 songs from his 2022 EP “Christmas At Home” woven together with 6 new songs that wrap this nostalgic, family-focused project into a beautiful completion. Michael says of the album “(Every Christmas) takes “Christmas at Home” to a new level, with some beautiful, magical new surprises, including some of my favorite hymns.”

Michael co-produced with his son, Tyler Michael Smith. His daughters Whitney Mooring and Anna Smith are also featured throughout. The family focus is fitting, as the songs on this album paint a picture of all of the merriment of the holiday season and Christmas memories made with the ones we hold dear. We are excited for you to hear this album – and hope these songs set the scene for new Christmas memories to come.

JJ Hairston: “Joy Is Here”

The GRAMMY-nominated, multiple Stellar Award winner, Billboard Music Award-winning, and Top Gospel Artist releases his long-awaited first ever Christmas album, recorded live in July 2023 at All Nations Worship Assembly (ANWA) Washington, DC.

The album features a mix of holiday classics with Hairston’s signature style as well as originals including stand out collaborations with Trina Hairston, Melvin Crispell, III, Brittney Wright, Jason Clayborn & Gathering Place Worship Choir and more. JJ performed the album track, “Joy To The World” on Monday, November 6th on The Tamron Hall Show – his daytime television debut.

Mac Powell: “Christmas”

Award-winning artist Mac Powell releases his new “Christmas” EP featuring five songs that will make your holiday playlists this year. “Christmas” features three original songs including, “Christmas Time Again, My Friend,” a song that he wrote with his daughter and son-in-law. Other songs featured are “I Pray On Christmas,” a unique take on the classic Harry Connick Jr. song as well as “Jesus Christ Is Born” that Powell released in 2022.

Lauren Daigle –

“Behold: A Christmas Collection”

Behold plays like an audio time capsule built of saxes, trombones and other horns (even tubas!), upright bass, brushes on drums, mellow sounding hollow body guitars, and vocals that are rich and distinctive but still somehow laid-back in their feel. Whereas Lauren Daigle’s debut album was energy-laced, radie-ready pop, her Christmas project seems in some ways to be a confident re-imagining of her own versatile vocal gifts, showcased in a more mature and subdued, but also more eloquent, context.

Various Artists: “Journey To Bethlehem

 (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack)”

Capitol Christian Music Group releases the official soundtrack album for the musical adventure, Journey to Bethlehem. The album features the original songs, from the movie written by music producer/composer Adam Anders, singer/songwriter Nikki Anders & songwriter/music producer Peer Astrom and performed by cast members including Fiona Palomo, Milo Manheim, Antonio Banderas, Joel Smallbone, Lecrae, MŌRIAH, Stephanie Gil, We The Kingdom and Steven Curtis Chapman.

Jeff & Sheri Easter: “Christmas Is”

GRAMMY-nominated Jeff & Sheri Easter ring in the season with their renditions of nostalgic holiday classics along with newly-penned songs, celebrating the joys of Christmas.

From the Western swing of “Holly Jolly Christmas” and country harmonies of “Winter Wonderland” to the beautiful orchestrations of “If You Listen” and the jazzy “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas,” the group shares what Christmas Is to them—family, joy and faith delivered through an humble birth of a child divine.

11 Ways to Save Money

This Thanksgiving

There’s just nothing quite like Thanksgiving weekend: a morning prepping turkey and learning Grandma’s famous casserole recipe, parades and football on the TV, political comments from Uncle Rick, long afternoon naps . . . and mad dashes to the mall.

But between eating and shopping and traveling, it’s hard to keep track of where your money’s going. Don’t worry. With these 11 ways to save money this Thanksgiving, you can spend less time stressing over your finances and more time enjoying your family.

1. Prioritize your holiday plans.

It happens every year—once Thanksgiving comes around, the rest of the year zooms by faster than you can say “Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer.” And how you spend money on Turkey Day weekend can set the tone for the kind of money habits you’ll have for the rest of the year.

So, as you’re thinking about how much you might spend this season, write out all the things you’re planning to do between now and the new year. Holiday travel, gifts, food, parties, traditions—include it all. Then, take some time to prioritize your holiday wish list so if you have to adjust your budget, you know what to cut first. For example, if you know you really want big, homemade Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners, you can scale back on the seasonal decorations to have more money for the food.

Or if visiting family is your priority, maybe you’ll choose to trim your Christmas budget and spend that money on a Thanksgiving trip to visit loved ones you haven’t seen in a while. The important thing is to plan for what matters to you before the holidays begin.

2. Make a budget and check it often.
