Christian Movie Hits Theatres - The Case For Christ

"A hard-driving journalist, Lee Strobel was exactly where he expected to be at work: on top. His award-winning investigative reporting recently earned him a promotion to legal editor at the Chicago Tribune. But things weren't going nearly as well at home where his wife Leslie's newfound faith in Christ went against everything Lee believed-or didn't believe-as an avowed atheist.

Utilising his journalistic and legal training, Lee begins a quest to debunk the claims of Christianity in order to save his crumbling marriage. Chasing down the biggest story of his career, Lee comes face-to-face with unexpected results that could change everything he knows to be true."

This is how Five Loaves Media the Australian promoter for this new movie sums up this exciting real life true story of discovery.

Based on Lee Strobel's award-winning bestselling book and starring Mike Vogel, Erika Christensen, Robert Forster and Academy Award winning Faye Dunaway. The Case For Christ opens in 34 cinemas across Australia on Thursday May 4.

Greg Laurie, senior pastor of Harvest Christian Fellowship in California, called the upcoming movie, which is based on the book of the same name, 'fantastic' and believes it will be a powerful tool to reach non-Christians.

"I have to say, this is the movie you have been waiting on to take your nonbelieving friend to, especially if your friend happens to be an atheist," Laurie told the Harvest audience.

Greg Laurie is not the only prominent Christian leader promoting this brilliant movie. Catholic Bishop and respected theologian Robert Barron has gone into bat for the Case For Christ when he said on this YouTube clip. "There is a lot about the movie that I admire but especially the way it presents coming to Christ. The slow steady, often painful stopping and starting process by which we come to faith."

CBN news even did an in-depth story with the author, Lee Strobel, on this 5 minute YouTube video which gives great insight into the story behind the movie. One of the lead pastors of the famous Saddleback church in California also does a very in depth interview with Lee Strobel here on this YouTube video.

If we, as signers of the Canberra Declaration, are going to transform the culture, we must embrace opportunities to promote movies like The Case for Christ to our friends, family and the broader community. Therefore we encourage you, as member of the Canberra Declaration, to go and see this groundbreaking production, particularly in the first week. Tickets sales in the first week will dictate whether this movie comes back into the cinemas in the second week. Society will be "richer and healthier" if it does.

Click here and scroll down to look for a cinema near you. Go and see 'The Case for Christ'. You will be glad you did!

PS: The North Korean Crisis is a cause of great concern to us as America is our strongest protector and greatest friend. Last week, through our sister body the National Day of Prayer and Fasting, we issued an Urgent Call for Prayer and Fasting for America from 30 April - 4 May.

See our media release here.

The core need of America is Revival and Transformation for their sin sick society, according to 2 Chronicles 7:14, which is exactly the same need as in Australia. This mutual need of National Transformation is the basis for this prayer call.

See our USA prayer promo video here. Having said that, the threat of nuclear war initiated by North Korea, is very real and gives us all the more reason to be engaged in prayer and fasting, not only for America but also for Australia. We have reason to pray for peace and safety in the free world. The alternative is unthinkable.

We encourage you to participate in this call for prayer and fasting between 30 April - 4 May 2017 in whatever way you are able.
