Christine Esposito Announces Campaign for NYS Assembly District 119, Receives Endorsement from State and Federal Leaders

Today, former Rome City School Board of Education member Christine Esposito announced her candidacy for the New York State Assembly in the 119th District, which includes the cities of Utica, Rome, and the towns of Floyd, Deerfield, Marcy, and Whitestown. Esposito, who comes from a family with generational ties to both Utica and Rome, served her community as school board member from 2008 - 2012 including a position as Clerk, Chairing of Instruction and Personnel with a passion for contributing to Policy, Finance and Building and Grounds committees.

Christine is married to her husband, Mark, and they proudly raised twin daughters who also reside in Rome. She is an active community member, having served as the Director of Rome Pop Warner and PTSO President for Rome Schools.

Even in its early stages, Christine’s campaign has been fueled by a groundswell of grassroots volunteers who are collecting signatures for her nominating petitions. No stranger to hard work, Christine is relishing in the challenge to earn the trust and support of voters across the Mohawk Valley.

“It’s a humbling opportunity to run for the State Assembly to help bring back common sense, cooperation, and Upstate values to this Assembly seat,” said Esposito. “My years of volunteering in the community have taught me the most important hallmark of public service; Listening to the people you serve. Unfortunately, we don’t have anyone truly actively listening to the concerns of our community. The foundation of this campaign will be the voices of our community and finally helping those voices represent tangible action in Albany.”

Christine’s community compassion is evident. “I care about the Mohawk Valley and the people who live here. I understand the challenges we face in our community. My family members are educators, nurses, small business owners, and past firefighters in the 119th Assembly District. Making our community a better place for the people today and the future generations to come will be my priority.”

“NY Democrats credit themselves for helping pass bail reform. Crime spiked to near-record levels. Inflation went through the roof, taxes kept going up resulting in financial struggles to make ends meet. People are leaving NY because of failed leadership responsible for some of the most dangerous and irresponsible policies this state has ever seen.”

“Balance in state government is something all New Yorkers can rally around, and over the coming months I’m eager and excited about the opportunity to have the Mohawk Valley rally around my vision for a stronger and safer New York,” concluded Esposito.

In just a few short days Christine has already earned the endorsement of New York State Republican Chairman Ed Cox, Regional Vice Chairman of the NYS Conservative Party Chris Kendall, Former Congressman and Gubernatorial Candidate Lee Zeldin, Republican House Conference Chairwoman Elise Stefanik, Congresswoman Claudia Tenney, and Assembly Minority Leader Will Barclay.

"Christine Esposito is exactly what we need in the State Assembly: an experienced public servant who knows how to fight for better schools, safe streets, and more jobs. It is imperative that we break the Democrats' supermajority in the Assembly to create a check on the far-left radicals who have made New York a safe space for criminals and illegal immigrants,” said New York State Republican Chairman Ed Cox.

“Christine Esposito brings a strong and refreshing common sense voice needed in Albany. Her service on the Rome School Board, Pop Warner, and other community organizations has given her a ground-level view of the problems Albany is creating in our communities, including cashless bail, diversion of taxpayer funds for illegal immigrants, and absurd EV mandates on schools and local governments. We need a voice like Christine in Albany,” said Regional Vice Chairman of the NYS Conservative Party, Chris Kendall, Esq.

“I am honored to endorse Christine Esposito for Assembly for New York’s 119th Assembly District. For over 20 years Christine has resided in Rome, NY where she has built a family and served her community. Christine is exactly the type of fighter we need in Albany holding Far-Left Democrats accountable. Whether it’s fighting failed bail reform policies, ensuring taxpayer money is spent on the citizens of our state, or fighting to protect our first responders, I know Christine will work tirelessly for the citizens of the 119th Assembly District. Christine comes from a family with a long tradition of public service and I look forward to working with her after her victory in November,” said House Republican Conference Chairwoman Elise Stefanik.

“We need more leaders like Christine Esposito in Albany. In 2022, our campaign for Governor won this district by over 10,000 votes and I am confident Christine can do the same. Kathy Hochul and her allies have put criminals and illegal migrants ahead of families in the Mohawk Valley and it is time for change. I am honored to endorse Christine Esposito for Assembly and look forward to working with her to save our state,” said former Congressman and Gubernatorial Candidate Lee Zeldin.

“New York families need conservative fighters like Christine Esposito in Albany, ready to push back against Kathy Hochul’s radical agenda. Under Hochul and Albany Democrats, crime is rampant, migrants are flooding into our state and businesses are fleeing. Christine understands the challenges we face, and will stand up for the Mohawk Valley in Albany. I am honored to endorse Christine’s campaign!” said Congresswoman Claudia Tenney.

"Christine Esposito has been a tremendous leader in the Mohawk Valley and I'm thrilled to support her candidacy for state Assembly. Her hard work, local knowledge and love for the region make her the perfect choice to represent the people of the 119th Assembly District. New Yorkers, especially upstate, have been abandoned by Democrats. We've lost thousands of lifelong residents and homegrown businesses to more affordable states that aren't suffering through a public-safety crisis, a migrant crisis and a cost-of-living crisis. Taking back our state starts with people committed to their communities and a return to common sense. I know Christine Esposito will help bring the change Albany desperately needs," said Assembly Minority Leader Will Barclay.
