Dear VCS Families,
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we continue to navigate the COVID-19 pandemic challenges. We find encouragement and insight in Isaiah 42:16, "I will lead the blind by a way they did not know; I will guide them on unfamiliar paths. I will turn darkness into light before them and rough places into level ground. These things I will do for them, and I will not forsake them."
After the Christmas break, all campuses will provide distance learning only from January 5 through January 18. Exceptions may be allowed for any students who have requested and arranged in advance for additional tutoring. Parents will be required to sign the form attesting they have avoided all out of county travel and travelers.
The Santa Clara County directive on travel from November 30 remains in place and impacts our second-semester plans. This mandatory directive applies to all travel into or out of Santa Clara County, whether by residents or non-residents. Whether by air, car, train, or any other means, directly or indirectly from the point of origin greater than 150 miles from the County's borders, all travelers must quarantine for 14 days upon return.
According to the county officials, the risk of COVID-19 transmission increases as people travel in and out of Santa Clara County and contact persons from other households and other communities, primarily through travel to regions with significant COVID-19 transmission. To reduce this risk, the County Health Officer has established this travel-related mandatory directive.
Your cooperation and tremendous support are so appreciated as we safely navigate our students' and employees' health. We pray that you and your loved ones will have a blessed Christmas and a Happy New Year.
