CHRISTMAS!

 When LIGHT Meets the Dark

I love the Gospel of John and especially so at Christmas. His words are so powerful in speaking about the birth of Jesus in John 1:5… “The light shines in the darkness; and the darkness understood it not.”  That disconnect between God and the way we live is becoming more pronounced each day.

Kelly Shackelford, the President of First Liberty Legal, recently said, “This Christmas consider that your children and grandchildren may eventually be forced to live their faith out underground?” At first, her statement took me by surprise but considering how rapidly the moral climate has decayed in America and especially here in the Northeast, it’s a valid statement. Christianity and immorality are mutually exclusive and that includes the spread of LGBTQ+ ideology.

The only common place they share is a place called GRACE. But grace, as wonderful as it is, is a means to an end and, that end is for our lives to gradually take on the LIGHT reflected in God’s moral laws and his commandments, to find his forgiveness and to leave the DARKNESS behind.

That is what Rhode Island Family Institute is all about. Serving FAMILIES as well as LEGISLATORS with resources that bring HOPE and that pushes back the DARKNESS so that the LIGHT of Christ can shine brightly here in Rhode Island.

Please consider a year end gift to help us finish the year strong and continue our work on behalf of Rhode Island families in 2024. You can make a donation online at www.RhodeIslandFamily.org

Have a Very Merry Christmas with your family! It really is the best time of the year, when we remember that “the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us. We beheld his glory as the only begotten Son full of grace and truth.” John 1:14
