Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
As we gather to celebrate the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ, we are invited to contemplate the mystery of the Holy Family—Jesus, Mary, and Joseph—who themselves experienced the challenges of migration. From Bethlehem to Egypt, they knew what it meant to leave home, seek refuge, and trust in God’s providence.
This Christmas, let us remember that the Holy Family is not only a model of love and faith but also a patron for all immigrants and refugees. In their journey, we see the struggles faced by countless families today who leave their homeland in search of safety, dignity, and hope. Our parish, rooted in the Gospel, is called to welcome, accompany, and support those who come to us, just as Joseph and Mary welcomed the Christ Child into a world that had no room for Him.
May this season renew our commitment to hospitality and solidarity. Let us open our hearts and homes, making room for Christ in the stranger, the migrant, and the vulnerable. In doing so, we live the true meaning of Christmas: “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to those on whom His favor rests.”
This Christmas, our parish has once again shown the beauty of that love through your generosity with the Giving Tree. Thanks to your kindness, many families in need will experience the warmth and joy of this holy season. Your gifts are more than presents—they are signs of Christ’s presence among us.
On behalf of our parish staff and ministry leaders, I thank you for your faith, your generosity, and your commitment to living the Gospel. May the peace of Christ dwell in your hearts and homes this Christmas and throughout the New Year.
Merry Christmas and blessings to you and your loved ones!
In Christ,
Friar Manuel Viera, OFM
