A Word from our Head of School

Every year before Christmas break, our WDCS community gathers for our annual "Lessons and Carols" Christmas service. Our hope is to surround our students with a community that feels like home, where they are deeply known and loved.

Our students come from a variety of family backgrounds, and for many of them, the Christmas season is a reminder of the brokenness of the world. However, while they are with us, we have the opportunity to provide them with an excellent education, in an environment where their character is strengthened and their faith is formed.

We invite you to partner with us to ensure our students continue to thrive this Christmas season and in the upcoming year. Thank you for keeping our staff, students, and families in your prayers.

Gratefully,

Sam Turner

Spelling Bee

Fourth through eighth grade students participated in the annual Spelling Bee competition last Friday.

Congrats to fifth grader, Faithful, on winning the Spelling Bee! She will participate in the Dallas County Spelling Bee in February.

When asked how she felt about competing again, she said, "I am excited to give it a try and do my best for God." We are so proud of Faithful!

Pre-K Arboretum Field Trip

Our Pre-K classes took a field trip to the Dallas Arboretum. They watched a puppet show about squirrels and enjoyed the "12 Days of Christmas" display. It was so much fun, and the students had a blast!

Champions Club First Friday

The Champions Club, our young professionals groups, participated in our monthly First Friday service opportunity. They opened doors at carpool and joined students for morning assembly.

To celebrate the holidays, they stayed to read the Christmas story and created Christmas crafts with our Pre-K and Kindergarten students during their Bible class.

Andres Salas, Class of '19

β€Š

Pictured: Andres returned to WDCS to visit students and staff in November.

Andres graduated from WDCS in 2019. His family moved to Maryland, where he attended high school at Maryland Christian Academy. Andres is currently serving as an Airman in the United States Air Force and plans to continue his career by becoming an Air Force officer.

His mother, Veronica, also proudly served in the United States Air Force for 23 years. She reflects gratefully on her children's time at WDCS:

"WDCS has not only provided a strong foundation in education and faith, but has also helped strengthen both of my children, encouraging them to follow their hearts and trust the path God is leading them on. Being part of the WDCS family has been a lifelong blessing. It reminds us that home is where the heart is, and it is the place we can always return to for support, guidance, and love. We are profoundly grateful for a community that continues to shape our children’s minds, character, and spirit."
