Fire Hydrant Snow Removal
As winter approaches, help the Fire Department by adopting the fire hydrant closest to your home or business and keep it free of snow during the winter.
If a fire hydrant is buried by snow, it is difficult to find and valuable time must be spent digging it out. Keep snow clear in a 3-foot radius around the fire hydrant and shovel a path from the street or roadway up to the hydrant. This will help the Fire Department in an emergency.

North Shore Health Department:

News from the Health Department:
Did you know? For many Americans, the end of the year brings images of happy families celebrating holiday traditions, shared dinners, seasonal music, and cozy fires. For others, the holidays can be a much more difficult time – a time of family conflict, financial strain, loneliness, grief, and seasonal affective disorder. If you find the holidays tough, you are certainly not alone. Studies show that cases of depression and drunk driving crashes both increase during the holiday period. Unfortunately, many of these are tied to alcohol and drug abuse, typically engaged in by people who are trying to cope with holiday blues.
If you or someone you know are struggling with alcohol or drug use/abuse, the Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) has launched a new free initiative to make it easier to find help: the Wisconsin Addiction Recovery Helpline. Call 2-1-1, text your zip code to 898211, or visit
www.AddictionHelpWI.org.
