There’s additional free parking at One Monument.
Plus an update about the parking deck elevator.
In addition to our parking deck, we have prepaid for 75 parking spaces on the 3rd and 4th floors of the One Monument Parking Deck from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Christmas Eve.
The One Monument Parking deck is on Lombardy near the intersection of Lombardy and Monument Avenue, right behind the First English Lutheran church. See the map for directions.
In addition, the elevator is out of order in our St. James’s parking deck.
Therefore we are reserving the first section of the parking deck for anyone who is unable to take the stairs. There will be directional signage when you enter the garage.
And finally, please remember that the surface lot (next to Michaux House) is reserved for people with mobility issues.
If you don't have mobility issues, please park in the St. James’s parking deck or at One Monument. Thank you for your cooperation in this area.

Please consider making
a Christmas offering.
When you come to the Christmas Eve and Christmas Day services, you’ll see one of these special Christmas Offering envelopes in your pew. We hope you’ll use it to make a gift to the mission and ministry of St. James’s – and to help us finish the year with a balanced budget.
If your gift is a check, please write Christmas Offering on the memo line. Thank you!

New ways to be a part of Caritas Bridge Week
January 20-26
The beautiful new CARITAS Center is now housing the Women’s Shelter guests, so in place of the traditional CARITAS week, St. James’ers are now invited to help provide food, fellowship, and fun on-site at the shelter during the week of January 20-26.
There are so many ways to help, including preparing and serving breakfast, preparing and dropping off lunch, preparing dinner at St. James’s and serving at the shelter, providing evening entertainment, and going on a CARITAS Center tour. Signup here.
All activities and meals will take place at:
The CARITAS Center, 2220 Stockton St., Richmond VA 23224
Please no elementary/middle school age children at the shelter. High schoolers may participate at your own discretion.

Blake and Kilpy will be ordained on January 7.
All are welcome.
No ticket required.
On Saturday, January 7 at 10:30 am, Blake and Kilpy will be ordained as priests at Christ Church Episcopal at 5000 Pouncey Tract Road in Glen Allen. This event is ope to all, and no ticket is required.
If you remember Blake and Kilpy getting ordained back in June, you may be asking yourself, "why are they getting ordained again?" Great question! Every Episcopal priest is first ordained a deacon. The role of a deacon is to be a bridge between the Church and the world, specifically focusing on the role of servanthood.
After spending 6-12 months as a deacon, those who are called to the priesthood are then ordained as a priest, but every priest was first and will always be a deacon. So, Blake and Kilpy were ordained as deacons in June and will be ordained as priests on next Saturday.

End of the year pledge reminder. And gratitude.
As we approach the end of 2022, we want to remind everyone to please make sure you’ve fulfilled your 2022 pledge. And, of course, to thank you for your generosity to the mission of St. James’s.
Likewise, if you haven’t yet made your 2023 pledge (and we know a lot of you make your pledge in late December), please be sure to submit your pledge as soon as possible.
We are grateful for the generosity of everyone who has pledged. And we want to thank in advance everyone with plans to make your 2023 pledge and fulfill your 2022 pledge before the end of the year.

It's time to register for two beloved youth events: the MLK Service Lock-In and Snowfest!
Youth in grades 9-12 may attend the MLK Service Lock-In on January 15-16 at St. James’s. The lock-in is a great opportunity to earn community service hours, while also engaging in reflection on Dr. Martin Luther King’s legacy and helping one’s community. To register, click here.
