Christmas and End of Year Thoughts ...
|
|
 |
Happy Christmas Eve! For us, Christmas is over. We went camping with one side of the family over the weekend of the 14th and celebrated with the other side (and my granddaughter's 4th birthday) the weekend of the 21st.
It's been a whirlwind to say the least. This is the last newsletter for Executive Errands® in 2019 and I have to say this has been one of the most wonderful years in recent memory.
It hasn't been without challenges but we have been so lucky and blessed to meet so many new people. And our new rental support services program not only makes a difference for so many, but it is also so much fun!
What do we have planned for 2020? Well, first and foremost is our giving back program, the Executive Errands® Helping Hand award! One wonderful person will receive 100 hours of free concierge services -- a year's worth of support to help make their life easier.
This idea has been years in the making -- I've wanted to give back to our community forever, but when you sell time, it isn't exactly like 'sell a pair of shoes; donate a pair of shoes'.
Finding just the right way to give back has been challenging and getting the word out even more so but we are excited to find the right person for this Award. If you haven't gotten your nominations in, please do so before December 31th!
We also have a great team. Finding good employees for a part time job with no health benefits is never easy but in the last half of 2019, we managed to find some very good people. We will probably always have turnover, but hopefully we're stable now for some time to come.
We've updated a whole host of policies and procedures with more on the way. This is how we control the quality of what we do and makes training so much more effective.
Written policies and procedures insure all people are trained exactly the same way, all expectations are clearly defined and we reduce the learning curve while mitigating opportunities for mistakes.
This documentation also insures our clients enjoy a consistent and continuous level of high quality service -- no easy feat for anyone growing a company.
We have added exciting new features to our version of the Essential Elements™ data collection software system including new ways to sort tasks to help us get them completed faster and we've added other new reporting tools that fit with our 'management by exception' philosophy.
We are constantly looking at how to reduce time both for actual tasks/services and for administrative type tasks and services. The automation of our time entry in 2017 reduced that effort by 89% -- a savings that directly benefits our clients!
We will also be reviewing and updating our website -- recently it was pointed out to me that our FAQ's are 5 years out of date! I keep lamenting, "where does the time go?", but seriously! 5 years? Wow!
Thank you too, as we end this year, to all our loyal and faithful readers! Your feedback each month keeps inspiring me and keeps me writing. I appreciate you more than you will ever know!
Until next time, Happy New Year! Here's to continued prosperity in 2020 (and our wedding!)
Reminder: Get your nominations in for Executive Errands® Helping Hand Award. Some deserving person will receive 100 free hours of support in 2020.
