Dear Happy Hooves friends and family,
On October 5th, guests enjoyed an unforgettable evening of delicious food, beer and wine, horse riding demonstrations, live music, silent and live auction items, and much more. This was the best Wines & Equines to date and all proceeds raised will provide scholarships to help special needs children and at risk youth benefit from therapeutic riding and equine related activities! Thank you to WYFF News 4 Anchor, Michael Cogdill, for being the emcee for the evening!
Wines & Equines would not have been such a success without the help of our volunteers and generous donors! We are especially grateful to our Grand Prix Sponsors Cameron Construction and The Liberty House Inn, our Reserve Champion Sponsors Cleveland Park Animal Hospital and Kevin Dunn, State Farms Agent, Wells Fargo Advisers, and TD Bank. Also thank you to Smoke on the Water Restaurant for their delicious Low Country Boil! Heart Strings provided fantastic bluegrass music. We can't wait to see you next year! Thank you ALL for making a difference in the lives of special needs individuals and at risk youth in the Upstate! Check out our Wines & Equines event photo album here!
Your $10 per person admission fee includes: "Reindeer" rides on our horses and ponies, an interactive live Nativity scene, time to visit with Santa, over 6 different crafts to make, hot chocolate & cookies, Christmas Carolers, a "PeepleChase" jumping course, photo opportunities, and more! We will also have a hot dog lunch, baked goods, and horse themed gifts for sale.
God Bless you and keep you,
Becky Sweeney

Berea Elementary Students Enjoyed School at the Barn!
We love the students from Berea Elementary who participated in our School at the Barn program through Communities in Schools. Their mission is to surround some of the Upstate's most vulnerable students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life.
Not only do these students participate in Happy Hooves' therapeutic riding lessons, they also use horses as hands on learning to work on life skills like responsibility, self-control, trust,
and team work.
Thank you to our private donors, Dabo and Kathleen Swinney's All in Team Foundation, Helens Hugs, and First Presbyterian Church of Greenville for making life changing programs like this possible! You are making a difference in the lives of others, one stride at a time!

Students from Walhalla High School taking a break at our new Tonka Trail playground! |
Walhalla High School at Happy Hooves School at the Barn!
The special needs class from Walhalla High School had a wonderful time last month at Happy Hooves' School at the Barn program! They continued to work on Social Emotional Learning skills, had a therapeutic riding lesson, classroom time with their teachers, and aids, as well as plenty of time on Tonka's Trail playground!
God Bless our amazing volunteers, staff, horses, and donors for making days like this possible! When you connect horses with children, amazing connections take place and healing happens.

Friends of the Farm
We want to thank our most loyal supporters and make all donors and volunteers, new and old, feel appreciated! Your support is essential to our mission to enhance the lives of individuals in the Upstate of South Carolina through the power of the horse.
Happy Hooves is an all-volunteer organization. All funding comes from donations, fundraisers and grants. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, over 80% of our Happy Hooves riders are able to receive therapeutic riding at no charge.
Happy Hooves currently serves nearly 160 children in the Upstate each year through therapeutic riding lessons, summer fun programs and School at the Barn.
School at the Barn has 570 therapy lessons and 570 Equine Assisted Learning lessons each year. Summer camp has 135 therapy lessons; and we have 400 individual therapy lessons for a total of 1675 lessons per year.
The therapeutic riding programs require an average of 40 trained volunteers each week, and run year round, with each volunteer working an average of 3 hours per week.
Eden Farms, home of Happy Hooves, is a beautiful 170-acre property with three arenas, a 40-stall barn that currently houses 30 horses; 13 boarders and 17 therapy horses. There is a handicapped accessible playground on the grounds, along with a sensory riding trail with man-made activity stations.
We once again thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all of your support and your donations. We couldn't help so many special needs children and adults, and at-risk children and teens, without you!

Did You Know?
Happy Hooves has been a PATH International Premier Accredited Center since 2005. In fact, we are one of only six Premier Accredited Centers in South Carolina, and the only one in the Upstate. This accreditation is a rigorous process requiring centers to meet stringent requirements for staff, facilities, and programs. A program must be re-accredited every five years.

Your contribution helps special needs children and adults, as well as at-risk children and teens.
