Christmas Eve
Holy Communion
We will be celebrating Holy Communion as part of the Christmas Eve service. Prepackaged elements (a host and grape juice) have been mailed to the homes of many members and friends. If you do not receive yours, you may pick some up at the church. Contact Pastor Trudy with the number of elements you need. You can also provide your own bread and wine in your home.
Worship Service
Our service will premiere on our YouTube channel on Christmas Eve @ noon. You can watch it then, or anytime after.

Pastor Trudy's Message
Christmas is not cancelled! It won't be the same, but it sure will be more true to what we find in the story of the birth of Jesus. Isolation, unprecedented challenges, politics at play in the midst of God's plan. Perhaps this year, more than others, we will see clearly the incredible love of God willing to come from heaven to earth to join us. Glory to God in the highest!

God of love, peace, joy and hope, we come with hearts bursting with sadness for our world and with love for the gift of your son, Jesus. Help us to live out of your love to bring peace, joy and hope to the world. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Virtual Advent Calendar
We're coming to the CLOSE of our GLC Virtual Advent Calendar, but you can still OPEN the videos anytime! It's been a truly meaningful way to stay grounded in faith and connected to each other during this season of Advent. We so appreciate Vicar Amber's work on this project and all of the GLCers who participated. Thank you!
WONDERING...
REAL QUESTIONS FROM REAL PEOPLE TO LEARN MORE ABOUT GLC
How can I keep my focus on Jesus in this season? The simplest answer is to work at keeping our focus on Jesus during the rest of the year— when things get busy and so many things demand our attention. Jesus has the power to challenge us to grow, to do things we would rather not do, to go places we would rather not go- and most of His answers for us are far from tidy. As we contemplate resolutions for the next year, let's make the first one to pray for the strength to take one small risk to follow Jesus each day.
UPCOMING SUNDAY WORSHIP SERVICES
Vicar Amber's Message - December 27
“Lord you are dismissing your servant in peace, according to your word. For my eyes have seen your salvation…” says Simeon as he cradles the Christ child in his arms. The prophet Anna leans over his shoulder and speaks bold words of praise to God for fulfilling his promise. After waiting for so long, these two elders take their time to adore Jesus, the answer to their prayers and the proclamation of prophets long before them. We have this same opportunity as Christ is born anew this Christmas.

Gracious Lord of all, you entered our likeness to save us from our sin. We praise you for the gift of your very self, for the sake of all living beings. In Jesus’ name, Amen

Pastor Trudy's Message - January 3
Twelve year old Jesus gets lost! Well, not from his perspective, but his parents certainly think so. After going to Jerusalem for the Passover, they realize Jesus isn't in the crowd returning home. He has stayed with the teachers in the Temple, learning and teaching. And everyone is amazed, just as we have been at the story of Jesus' birth. As Jesus becomes an adult, the amazement turns to anger, even the desire to kill him. Let's resolve to remember our amazement when Jesus' teachings challenge us.

God, it is so easy to receive the infant Jesus- how wise you were to send Him in a way we could receive Him! Help us also to accept the challenge and wisdom of His teaching. In Jesus' name, Amen.
