"IMAGES" Photographic Art Gallery
Newsletter December 2021
Christmas memories...
Dear friends,
Welcome to my monthly "PHOTOBLOG" newsletter, which I have been publishing for several years and have enjoyed sending to friends and clients in order to keep them informed of my current photographic interests, new works, upcoming exhibits and other Gallery events.
A new "subject" is at the center of each Newsletter, with which I present a short series of pertinent images along with any needed description and details, in order to allow my viewers to become more actively part of the discussion.
Most of the imagery displayed will be eventually on view at "IMAGES" Art Gallery, 14406 Detroit Rd., Lakewood, and of course I always welcome anyone's comments and interest in my work. The Gallery is open and I would be very happy to extend to all an invitation to contact us so that a personal "safe" time for a visit could be conveniently arranged, if so desired.
Any of these and other images could be custom printed/framed and become part of your art collection, based on your specifications and desires.
Over the years my recipients list has gradually grown, thanks to your interest and support, and I encourage you to share this "PHOTOBLOG" with friends and art lovers in your circles.
More of my photography on view at www.mellinophotography.com.
A sincere "thank you" for your interested attention,
Marcello Mellino.
This time of the year is often a difficult one for many of us, as we are ultimately forced to sit down and look back in time to reassess our happy or not moments and circumstances we had to deal with throughout the preceding twelve months, with a balance not always easy to accept. Looking forward to a new year brings the unavoidable certainty of the simple fact that the road is getting shorter...
However, as the music starts again and the good old Christmas songs begin their renewed count down to the 25th, I felt once more that warmth and the simple joy brought on by the memories always triggered by them. This simple, brief happiness made me decide to look back with you at some of the images collected over the years which for me meant CHRISTMAS-NATALE once again!
Even though I am not profoundly religious, I feel quite happy to share with you the Nativity scenes presented this month, some of which contain deep personal meaning, as well as all the other images, which will certainly help me wish to everyone a most blessed and safe Christmas!
Thank you for looking at this Blog, hoping that it might help you to bring back to memory many of your past happy days
Nativity scenes like the one we saw 20 years ago on the shore of Lake Bracciano are simply unique and unforgettable: the local fishermen had built it on a raft anchored few feet away, bare in the midst of the waves and the winds of winter but certainly filled with meanings and simple beauty! You will see a few more this month, along with several Christmas themes seen over the years downtown, in our own Cleveland Public Square, filled with colorful lights, music and everchanging Holiday motives. It is truly a special moment for me when I finally get to see the new Christmas atmosphere at the Square, which reminds me of the thousands of immigrants who left their homes somewhere in the world to seek a new beginning here... the Square, which has been and remains the unmistakable symbol of our city since the early settlement of hundred years ago.
The floating Christmas tree caught in Naples, Florida a while ago is still one of my all time favorite image; then, two views of Leonessa, a small Italian town dating back to the 1200's where my family owns a home. Every trip back to this place is always a special one, when I can again enjoy the true flavors and the still authentic surroundings found in these Italian towns, and certainly more so during every Christmas Season.
St. Peter Basilica and the Square with its traditional annual very impressive
"Presepe"; a visit to Rome during the Christmas Season is always a wonderful experience, yet still perhaps difficult these days...
A tall, colorful Christmas tree usually marks the beginning of the Holiday Season inside Tower City Center, where I remember lots of children (and their parents...) enjoying a visit with Santa and a trip on that little train! I hope that these simple traditions will survive, in spite of the pandemic, so that many more children might be able to enjoy the festive atmosphere in years to come.
"IMAGES" Photographic Art Gallery is happy to welcome you to view our current displays of original photographic art and much more!

Our annual "Open House" is finally coming back on Thursday, December 9th (11 to 3pm) and Friday, December10th (2 to 6pm): please plan to stop by to reconnect and let us help you celebrate the Holidays by possibly providing art pieces which could generate happiness and long lasting visual pleasure for their recipients!

I also wish to express to all of you my sincere gratitude for the continued support and encouragement throughout these very difficult times, as well as my most deeply felt wishes for a healthy, joyful and most of all uneventful Christmas Season...Buon Natale!

Marcello.
