PORTSMOUTH, New Hampshire - Discover New England (DNE), the nonprofit cooperative destination marketing organization that promotes New England tourism internationally, has named Christopher Jennings as executive director.
Jennings brings more than 30 years of experience in destination marketing to DNE, including 12 years in the public sector as tourism director for the states of Missouri and New Hampshire. Jennings also ran two private-sector tourism organizations and has experience in media, working in both the advertising and editorial departments of regional magazine and newspaper companies.
Christopher Jennings, executive director
DNE’s Board Chair Mark Brodeur said, “On behalf of the board of DNE, we welcome Chris back to New England and look forward to working with him to build upon the successes of the organization and increase New England’s market share in our core target markets.”

Jennings replaces Lori Harnois who led the organization for the past five years and who has taken a position with the New Hampshire Division of Travel & Tourism.

“I’m honored to have this opportunity to lead DNE. Nearly 28 years ago, it was one of the first regional destination marketing organizations in the U.S., and I look forward to developing a strategy that will strengthen and grow New England’s position in the global marketplace,” said Jennings.
Jennings and his wife Manya live in Dover, NH and have two adult daughters living in New England, a daughter serving as a Peace Corps volunteer in Zambia, and a son who lives and works in New Hampshire.
