Communion Statement
The Lord's Supper is celebrated here in the confession and glad confidence that our Lord, as He says, gives not only bread and wine, but His very body and blood to eat and drink for the forgiveness of sin. In joyful obedience to the clear teaching of our Lord Jesus those are invited to His table who trust His words, repent of all sin, and set aside any refusal to forgive and love as He forgives and loves us. They show forth His death until He comes. Because Holy Communion is a confession of the faith which is confessed at this altar, any who are not yet instructed, in doubt, or who hold a confession differing from that of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod and so are unable to receive the Sacrament are invited to meditate on God's Word in the distribution hymns and pray for the day when divisions will have ceased. If you wish to receive communion in your pew, please inform an usher.

Mailboxes: Information Needed
We are finalizing the arrangements for the new mailboxes in the narthex. For space and ease of updating them, they will be assigned by number, with a reference sheet on the side. Member households who are aged 60 and older will receive a mailbox. All others will remain in the basement.
Exceptions (no mailbox) include:
1) If you are homebound.
2) If your church attendance is rare (you probably won't see this anyway).
3) If you do not desire a mailbox, please let the office know (office@stpaulbaycity.org).
Please respond soon if you do not want a mailbox. Thank you for your patience as we roll out this new system.

Holly Jolly Christmas Store - St. Paul PTO
The Holly Jolly Christmas Store is right around the corner (December 10 & 11). The Holly Jolly Christmas Store is a fully donation funded event, for students of St. Paul to shop for Christmas gifts for family. During the Holly Jolly Christmas store, students will shop with their classes to purchase gifts ranging in price from $1-$5 for family members. Gifts will go home with the students wrapped and ready to be delivered at Christmas.
To make this a successful event for St. Paul Students, the PTO needs your help!
We are accepting donations of large shopping bags (for students to bring gifts home in-large plastic or reusable bags), gift bags, tissue paper, tape, along with new and gently used items for moms, dads, grandparents, and siblings. (We never have enough mens and older boy items so those are a top priority, but anything is appreciated!)
The PTO asks that no clothing items be donated this year.
Additionally if any Thrivent members are interested in supplying a Thrivent Grant, please reach out to Jen Zielinski.
Donation boxes are located inside the main entrance at the school and in the Ministry Center. Every donation helps make the event special for our students.
Contact Jen Zielinski at 989-450-8057 with any questions.
St. Paul Ladies Aid – Generations of Faith, Friendship & Service
For generations, the women of St. Paul Ladies Aid have come together with a shared purpose: serving our Lord, supporting our church, building friendships, and creating lasting memories.
The traditions passed down through the years are about so much more than simply raising money. They are about faith, fellowship, hard work, and a love for our church home.
And speaking of traditions… our annual Ladies Aid Bake Sale is anything but ordinary!
People travel from miles around for our authentic German treats! What makes this event so special isn't just the delicious baked goods, but the countless hours our ladies spend preparing, baking, laughing, and working side by side. It's a tradition built on generations of dedication, and one we are incredibly proud to carry on!
But Ladies Aid is about so much more than our famous bake sale.
From new bleachers and bathroom renovations to beautiful church décor and even church additions, Ladies Aid has had a hand in making St. Paul the wonderful place it is today. Through the years, our ladies have worked tirelessly to give back to the church and community we love.
Whether we're bonding on a group trip, whipping up the best German treats around, or planning our next project at a monthly meeting, one thing remains the same: We are women of faith who find joy in serving together.
For generations, Ladies Aid has remained strong because of the women who have given their time, shared their talents, and kept these beautiful traditions alive. Now, we hope to welcome a new generation of women to continue that legacy!
💕 And that's where YOU come in!
If you're a member of St. Paul and would love to make new friends, share some laughs, create lasting memories, and be part of something meaningful while serving your church home, we would love for you to join us!
You don't need to be an expert baker, have a special talent, or know anyone in the group. All you need is a willing heart and a desire to be part of something special.
📅 Next Ladies Aid Meeting: November 2nd
🕡 Time: 6:30 PM
📍 Location: St. Paul Ministry Center
Come see what we're all about! We would love to welcome you!
For questions or more information, please contact Heidi Eichinger or Jen Zielinski.

Stewardship - An Act of Faith
Matthew 5:7 – “Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy.” This is one of many Bible passages that remind us that we reap what we sow. Likewise, what God puts into us (His own love, mercy, kindness and generosity) — flows back out of us. It all starts with His self-giving.

The First Reading
Revelation 7:2–17
Then I saw another angel ascending from the rising of the sun, with the seal of the living God, and he called with a loud voice to the four angels who had been given power to harm earth and sea, saying, “Do not harm the earth or the sea or the trees, until we have sealed the servants of our God on their foreheads.” And I heard the number of the sealed, 144,000, sealed from every tribe of the sons of Israel:
12,000 from the tribe of Judah were sealed,
12,000 from the tribe of Reuben,
12,000 from the tribe of Gad,
12,000 from the tribe of Asher,
12,000 from the tribe of Naphtali,
12,000 from the tribe of Manasseh,
12,000 from the tribe of Simeon,
12,000 from the tribe of Levi,
12,000 from the tribe of Issachar,
12,000 from the tribe of Zebulun,
12,000 from the tribe of Joseph,
12,000 from the tribe of Benjamin were sealed.
After this I looked, and behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands, and crying out with a loud voice, “Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!” And all the angels were standing around the throne and around the elders and the four living creatures, and they fell on their faces before the throne and worshiped God, saying, “Amen! Blessing and glory and wisdom and thanksgiving and honor and power and might be to our God forever and ever! Amen.”
Then one of the elders addressed me, saying, “Who are these, clothed in white robes, and from where have they come?” I said to him, “Sir, you know.” And he said to me, “These are the ones coming out of the great tribulation. They have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.
“Therefore they are before the throne of God,
and serve him day and night in his temple;
and he who sits on the throne will shelter them with his presence.
They shall hunger no more, neither thirst anymore;
the sun shall not strike them,
nor any scorching heat.
For the Lamb in the midst of the throne will be their shepherd,
and he will guide them to springs of living water,
and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.”
The Epistle
1 John 3:1–3
See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. The reason why the world does not know us is that it did not know him. Beloved, we are God’s children now, and what we will be has not yet appeared; but we know that when he appears we shall be like him, because we shall see him as he is. And everyone who thus hopes in him purifies himself as he is pure.
Holy Gospel
Matthew 5:1–12
Seeing the crowds, [Jesus] went up on the mountain, and when he sat down, his disciples came to him.
And he opened his mouth and taught them, saying:
“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
“Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.
“Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.
“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.
“Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy.
“Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.
“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.
“Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
“Blessed are you when others revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account. Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.”
