Wilderness Community UMC invites any United Methodists interested in International Mission opportunities, or seeking to support important mission work, or just interested in learning of the work God is doing in Medellin, Colombia to attend a presentation by Pastor Brian Miller of Global Transformation Ministries at Wilderness Community Church Wednesday, October 25th.

Pastor Brian Miller has been in ministry for over twelve years, caring for the impoverished families and street children in Medellin, Colombia. Brian has especially focused his ministry on the young women who have been forced into prostitution by family circumstances and poverty. His church has partnered with local schools and government officials to help alleviate this sad condition. Sex trafficking is a very important issue of concern for Christians today and it is rampant in Medellin. Come learn about the issue from a Christian soldier on the front lines of addressing this concern.

The presentation will start at 7 pm and last until 8:30 pm. Refreshments will be served. The church is located at 10501 Plank Road, Spotsylvania.

Please contact Rev. Denise Walton at Wilderness Community Church, pastordenise@wildernesschurch.org by October 25 th if you will be attending.
The Kindred Project comes to the Rappahannock District:
Kindred Project is a group of clergy and laity who gather together for the practice of spiritual disciplines, contemplative prayer and fellowship. The format varies slightly from region to region. Most gatherings last about two hours and include the following:
  • Moments of gathering and greeting
  • Devotions
  • 20 minutes of silent contemplative prayer
  • Conversation that flows from our experience of the Divine in the prayer
We all come seeking a deeper relationship with God, and often people find they experience spiritual nurture and community.

Join us at Zion UMC,  8700 Courthouse Road, Spotsylvania, VA 22553  for a time of centering prayer. We will meet the last Tuesday of the month from 10 - 11:30 am with the option of lunch afterward.  This month it is October 31. Its a great time to prep for All Saints Day.

If you have any questions please contact Rev. Kimberly Barker-Brugman at  pastorkim10@gmail.com  or  540-840-0014
