A Message from District Superintendent Rev. Dr. Rick Owen, Bishop Deborah Wallace-Padgett, and the Asbury Staff-Parish Relations Committee:
The last year and more have been one of the most difficult seasons for churches and pastors that we have ever experienced. After conversation with the District Superintendent and in conjunction with the SPRC, Senior Pastor Rev. Dr. Kip Laxson is taking the month of September as vacation to rest, renew, and discern the future going forward in ministry.
This announcement will be made during worship this Sunday, September 5. District Superintendent Rev. Dr. Rick Owen will be with us at the 11:00 a.m. Traditions Service. Bishop Deborah Wallace-Padgett will worship with us in Traditions on Sunday, September 12.
We know that you love and care about Kip and his family. Since this is a time of rest and renewal, we ask that you not call or text, but write a note of encouragement. You may direct those letters to the church office.
