MUSINGS
Walking Alone at Midnight
I climbed the Tree of Life today
Seeking the Son’s effulgent rays
I turned into my love for God
And love was sky and love was sod
And all life’s busy rushing past
Was love and only Love at last.

But as this mighty ocean drink
Of consciousness began to shrink
My Angel was beside me, and
Invited me to Her own land.
So on Her wings we upwards swept –
Out of this universe we leapt!

I found myself beside a lake
Where I had been oft-times before,
And all my angel friends sat there
Engaged with God along the shore.

Deep in the lake, the energies
Of mis-spent youth, the synergies
Of good and evil hovered bright
And we all cleansed them into light.

A great Light-Form swells from the lake
Blazing white the form it takes
For shape it has none – but from its heart
Uncounted rainbow rays are shot
Into our souls, arrow from bow,
And in that silent bliss we know.

In this to God we are dutiful –
Someone says, “It’s so beautiful!”
And higher angels send that Light
To earth, where most they need its might.

We know, and rise up from the grass.
Laughing and talking, full of sass,
My angels gather round and greet
Their guest who has so long been gone,
and my two special angels meet
me with their eyes – then on that lawn

Of brilliant green, before the lake
Pure as a turquoise stone, I take
My two sweet angels in my arms
At once – join the great Soul above –
While all the angels gather round
The three of us, shining with love.

Then we all give off a great Light
And let its wings us upwards bear
Rising as One to mountain’s peak,
And shining our Light in the air
Around it, till the jagged stone
Gives off ten times the Light we shone

And incandescent, blinded, cored
Like a green apple by our Lord
We are all light in sky and sod
And all together turn to God.
No words, no words, no words can come
Within this bridal chamber – come!

I am a man. I feel the sun
And breathe the air like anyone.
I use the portals in my palms
Like retro-rockets, set me down
Gently on earth, and find myself
Myself once more … back on the shelf.

But shining in my mind, the chart
Of that sweet journey to our Heart
Glows like a jewel, and I know
They’ll call me when it’s time to go
Again. Oh Lord, Who grants such things
Of such glory, lend me Your wings!

CONNECT
Helen Mitsui Shared Blessings Thrift Shop in Kilauea is seeking Volunteers for 2021.

Each volunteer shift is a 2-4 hour commitment for a minimum of one day per week. Experience in Retail, Customer Service, and/or Retail a plus, but not required.

Volunteers are invaluable to serving our community. Our goal is to reuse, repurpose and recycle goods — keeping as much as possible out of landfill — while providing our community with access to reasonably priced, quality merchandise.

Here are ways you can help:
* Greeters welcome shoppers and monitor our COVID guidelines.
* Customer Care helps shoppers to ensure a pleasant shopping experience.
* Merchandisers organize departments, restock the floor and display retail goods.
* Philanthropy distributes merchandise to organizations in need.
* Donation Intakers receive, sort and process donations.

Work-from-Home volunteers help prepare merchandise for sale. We are especially looking for help in these areas:
* Games: checking games to ensure all components are intact
* Stationery: packaging up cards and envelopes
* Holidays: preparing merchandise for Christmas, Halloween, Easter, Valentines, 4th of July, and more
* School, Office, Art Craft Supplies: organizing and packaging materials for reuse
* Toys: sorting, cleaning, and packaging toys
* Hardware: sorting and packaging tools, materials, electronics and appliances

Requirements?
*Team players with a genuine interest in serving the community and contributing to the reuse movement.
* Willingness to support COVID-19 safety measures set by Shared Blessings
* Physically able to lift 50 pounds (Merchandisers and Donation Intakers only)

Benefits?
Serving the community and our environment is rewarding work. We have a lot of fun! New merchandise is donated daily, so the element of surprise and wonder is constant. Get a first peek and more!
