This Sunday's Sermon and Song List This week we continue our short series through Esther: "Secret Sovereignty" Part 2 will be an overview of chapters 4-7 and it couldn't be more timely! Last week we saw together that just because God seems hidden it doesn't mean that He is absent. Before coming to church PLEASE REMEMBER: If you are sick or experiencing any symptoms please do not come to church. Use caution and seek medical advice instead. If you are in a high-risk category (e.g., compromised immune system, etc.) consult a medical professional that you trust to help make the right decision for you when it comes to public exposure.  Don't feel pressured to be back in church or volunteering as usual if you're not ready. If you're wondering how to make a decision about when to get back into a church routine, seek advice from trusted brothers/sisters in Christ, wisdom from God's word, and listen to your conscience. Remember that masks are available in the church building if you want one. We will not bind the conscience when it comes to masks but we are happy to provide them for any and all that would like one.

*NURSERY and CHILDREN'S CHURCH NOW AVAILABLE! Both nursery and Children's Church volunteers will continue to abide by safe and sanitary procedures when caring for all the children in their care.

New Adult Sunday School Study "Shield of Faith: Better Living Through Doctrine" is a walk through the book of Ephesians. Paul's letter to the Ephesian church is neatly divided into two major sections. The first part is a beautiful description of the gospel and God's work through Jesus Christ. It's all about telling us the truth. Then the second part is all about connecting that truth to the life of the believer. So, we're calling it "better living through doctrine" because that's Ephesians: It tells us about how TRUTH shapes our WALK. Sunday School starts at 9:00AM every Sunday at Discovery Church.

We kicked off Discovery Zone this past Wednesday night with pizza at 5:45 PM and an opening time of singing that is meant to help our kids latch on to Scripture verses and scriptural truths they need for life in this world. Everyone is welcome to join us each Wednesday at 5:45 PM for pizza with classes that follow at 6:30! Discovery Zone For Kids Class List Age 4 taught by Angie Maibaum Grades K-2 "He Has Been Clearly Seen" taught by Peg Wittmeier Grades 3-6 "How Majestic Is Your Name" taught by Taylor O'Bryan Wednesday Night Adult Study: The adult class on Wednesday nights is continuing through 1 Corinthians and will soon transition into Hosea. Grades 7-12: will continue to meet upstairs and study the adventures in the book of Judges.

Sunday Afternoon, Mask Required Service, starts January 17th To show sincere love for the brothers and sisters that desire a mask enforced gathering we are going to schedule a mask-enforced gathering on Sunday afternoons at 4:00. We want to try this for four weeks (January 17th - February 7th) and test out how well it encourages the body and meets the needs of those who've long suffered under a prolonged season of distancing. This service will likely be somewhat minimalized and simplified. But, at the same, time we'll be incorporating some elements that should be extra special for those in attendance (time for prayer requests, testimonies, guest speakers, etc.).

Pastor of Family Ministry: Search Team Progress We are pleased to report that our search team has extended an invitation to the man we believe God is calling to be our Family Ministries Pastor. We are inviting him to come, meet the church, and be examined by the congregation so that we can make our final decision about calling him to this position. At this time we are keeping his name out of public announcements so that he can take the time he needs to communicate with the ministry he is currently serving. These next few weeks of our efforts will be taken up with planning his candidating weekend and discussing the logistics of his transition should the Lord confirm his calling. As a congregation, please feel free to ask us in person about the name of this candidate so you can begin praying for him and his family by name.

Here are all the study/fellowship opportunities currently available through our church: Monday Morning Men's Group (6:45 AM at Fryn' Pan) Wednesday Night Adult Bible Study in 1 Corinthians at 6:30PM at Discovery Church. Childcare available. Zoom will also continue to be available. Men's Thursday Noon Bible Study (In-person at Discovery Church - bring a lunch if you like) Women's Thursday morning at 9:00 AM will continue our study of "Everyday Theology" by Mary Wiley Session 3, days 1-3. Child care available. The women's Tuesday night will resume January 12 at 5:30 PM using "Everyday Theology by Mary Wiley. Questions? Contact the church office at (605) 689-2211.
