This Sunday's Sermon and Song List
This week we'll be diving into Genesis 5:1-6:8. It might not seem like a lot of interesting things are going on in a genealogy but there are actually some powerful messages built in. In a lot of ways we see the basic themes of Genesis continue to emerge: As sin and chaos increase on the earth God continues to work toward the restoration and salvation of his creation. He shows grief over sin, a commitment to walk with mankind, and to extend grace to his people. We'll look carefully at the continuing story and then think about what it looks like to "walk with God" in a broken and sinful world.

To get yourself ready to sing on Sunday you can start listening to the songs we'll be singing together:
  • Mighty to Save
  • Only a Holy God
  • Amazing Grace (My Chains Are Gone)
  • Goodness of God
We created a playlist on Youtube in case you want to start listening today. You can find that by clicking HERE.

Pick Up Your Discovery Church Summer Calendar!
Church Calendars for June are available now! We thought it would be good to hand out a calendar because there are some new things we're trying and we're excited to have as many people as possible participate with us. If you want a DIGITAL COPY OF THE CALENDAR CLICK HERE.
This Summer we want to use our break from traditional Wednesday night gatherings and turn that extra energy and freedom toward Life Groups. These will be Summer long small groups dedicated to fellowship, Bible-discussion, and outreach. These groups are for individuals, couples or whole families to enjoy together. If you are interested in hosting or leading (or both!) one of these groups just let us know. You can sign up for a group as soon as this Sunday or you can contact the office if you're interested in hosting, leading or attending. What I (Pastor Cory) am looking forward to most about these groups is that each group can have it's own personality and be tailored to the needs of the group. Our family's group will be meeting at our house for topical Bible discussions, spiritual accountability and feasting. Then, once a month we'll be making a point to invite my neighbors along so that we can be a blessing to them as well. Wouldn't it be great if all our households were known in our neighborhoods for our generosity and hospitality! Look for the sign up sheet on Sunday or contact the office if you want to be involved.

New Life Groups Can Start Anytime - Let us know if you want to host one!

Baptism Class for Young People
Class Starts Tuesday, June 1st, 12:00PM @ Discovery
Do you have a young person in your family asking questions about baptism? Do you just want your students to know a little more about the gospel and what it means to follow Christ? We've had a few of our younger students begin asking questions about following the Lord in baptism and we want to give them all the tools possible for understanding the meaning and importance of identifying with Christ in this way.
Classes are on Tuesdays at Noon from June 1st to June 15th. Contact the church office with any questions or to sign up with your student. Parents are welcome and encouraged to attend. Lunch is provided.
