Prepare ye the way of the Lord! I'm looking forward to the pageant this Sunday morning at the 10am service. If someone in your household is participating in this Sunday's Christmas pageant, please make note of the rehearsals this weekend:
Saturday, December 19, from 9:40am to 12pm, and
Sunday, December 20, at 9am.
These final days before Christmas can trigger all kinds of feelings. For you, Christmas may bring joy, sadness, excitement, stress, grief, hope, guilt, relief, or some combination of these. One of the miracles of the Incarnation of Christ is that through Jesus, God took on a fully human form with a fully human range of emotion -- encompassing all the vast, messy, magical parts of human experience. As the writer Anne Lamott notes,
"If you have a body, you are entitled to the full range of feelings. It comes with the package."
No matter what you are feeling as we count down to Christmas Eve, I hope you will take a moment to rejoice in the coming of a Savior who is without sin, yet human enough to feel the full range of feelings -- just like us.
Please scroll down for more news. I'll look forward to seeing you this Sunday.
Yours,
Cat
P.S. You have until this Sunday to contribute to the
St. Stephen's book drive! We are already over 200 books -- WOW!
