Our weekly missive is here a day early this week because Holy Week is the height of busy – so let's get ready!
A few years ago, some of the children asked me about foot washing. They had some remote ideas and remembrances of it, but hadn't participated in a long time. And we haven't had particular opportunities to learn about and participate in this tradition in the past three Holy Weeks that I've been with you all. It is a beautiful, rich, but slightly complicated liturgy.
This year, we will have opportunities for age-appropriate teaching before the Maundy Thursday service this year, followed by our traditional multi-sensory Stations of the Cross on Friday at 3:30.
Finally, we will gather on Easter morning, rejoicing in Christ's triumph over death – followed by our annual Easter Egg hunt. Don't forget: we'll have just one 10am service this year for Easter.
