Dear Church School Friends,

Our weekly missive is here a day early this week because Holy Week is the height of busy – so let's get ready!

A few years ago, some of the children asked me about foot washing. They had some remote ideas and remembrances of it, but hadn't participated in a long time. And we haven't had particular opportunities to learn about and participate in this tradition in the past three Holy Weeks that I've been with you all. It is a beautiful, rich, but slightly complicated liturgy.

This year, we will have opportunities for age-appropriate teaching before the Maundy Thursday service this year, followed by our traditional multi-sensory Stations of the Cross on Friday at 3:30.

Finally, we will gather on Easter morning, rejoicing in Christ's triumph over death – followed by our annual Easter Egg hunt. Don't forget: we'll have just one 10am service this year for Easter.

Submit your Lent Madness Brackets!

Did your kids (or you) pick up a Lent Madness bracket sometime this season? Make sure to drop it off during Holy Week so that I can review all the brackets for prizes! Winners will be announced on Easter II (April 12)!

There are prize categories for:

-closest to Fr. Nick's Bracket

-closest to Bird's Bracket

-closest to Mary-Katherine's Bracket

-closest to the official public bracket

-and more!

Good News! It's Easter!
by Glenys Nellist, illustrated by Lizzie Walkley

Over the last few years, I've come to really appreciate a good board book – and Glenys Nellist's Good News! series certainly fit the bill. With the bright colors and charming rhymes of a classic board book, Nellist is committed to sharing God's Good News with the youngest members of our communities -

Jesus shouts out, stepping from the cave,
"I was dead but now I'm back,
to live and love and save!"
