Morning Light Performance

All that practice time with Skip will be put to good use as our talented children will be playing for us during the 9AM Morning Light service.
Joyful Noise!

Last week we highlighted some changes in space for our Church School classrooms. This week, we want to inform everyone of the changes in our music program. Skip Lewan, a Berklee graduate, professional music teacher, and our music leader for the Morning Light service will be instructing for the first  10-15 minutes of Church School time each Sunday. Once a month we will also have an hour long Joyful Noise lesson. The children will be working towards showcasing their musical talents during the Morning Light service throughout the year.
Volunteers Needed!

In order to provide a safe space for all our children, the Church School needs adult volunteers to be present while our members of our Church School staff teach the curriculum.

We will need at least two volunteers for the following Sundays:

September 24
October 8
October 15
October 22
October 29
November 5

What You Missed!

On August 16th, we held our final Parish House BBQ for the summer. As Labor Day approaches, what better way to fuel oneself for upcoming Church School events than a double veggie burger? When you come to our Morning Light service and Church School on September 17th, don't forget to introduce yourself to Rev. Amelia Nugent, our new Assistant Minister.

From the Church School Director

This weekend, we celebrate Labor Day. Many of us get a long weekend. Many of us will come together with friends to throw things on a grill and celebrate the unofficial end of summer. Many of us will lounge and relax as we prepare ourselves for a busy Fall season.

Truthfully, Labor Day isn't really about grilling, lounging, or the end of summer. It's about hard working people and their right to fair labor standards, fair pay, and deserved days off. When we work hard to accomplish something, we deserve to be acknowledged. Our work deserved to be admired.

This year, our children in Church School will be working hard to learn about our Christian tradition, our traditions at King's Chapel, and our focus on helping those in need. They'll be creating art projects, gathering useful items for those without homes, and practicing rhythm and melodies. Their labor will consist of thinking through the wisdom found in Bible stories and the love experienced when one extends a helping hand. Won't you come learn with us, share with us, sing with us? Won't you come admire the fruits of their labor? It's going to be a fantastic year!
