Church School Update
Here's what is going on in Church School this Sunday, October 28:

All Hallows Eve Family Night
Sunday, October 28, from 4:30 to 6:30 pm. RSVP at www.csmsg.org. More details below.

Preschool I and II
Preschool students continue to learn about the significance of water in the Bible through various stories over the next few weeks. This Sunday they learn about Moses and create an art project related to the story.

PreKindergarten students learn about the Baby in the Basket. Who is he? Why does his mother hide him? Students create a special snack related to the story.

At Jesus's Last Supper with his disciples he said an important prayer that we say every Sunday during Chapel and in the big church. Kindergarten students continue to learn about the Lord's Prayer. When we say the Lord's Prayer we honor God. What do we ask of Him? (To forgive us, to provide for us, and to guide us.)

First Grade
First grade students read the Bible story of David and Goliath. Students make a slingshot for their Bible binders and an edible slingshot for snack.

Second Grade
Second grade students continue learning about the Old Testament with the story of Joseph and his Coat of Many Colors. Students make another ornament for their Jesse Tree wreaths. For snack, they decorate gingerbread men with a technicolor dream coat.

Third Grade
Third grade students continue learning about parables. This week they discuss The Lost Coin and The Prodigal Son. Students make crafts for their parable folders.

Fourth and Fifth Grades
Fourth and fifth grade students learn about the Exodus and the Ten Commandments. How do rules help us? What happens when we break the rules? Students make a scroll using invisible ink.
All Hallows Eve Family Night October 28
Put on your Halloween costumes and join us for All Hallows Eve Family Night on Sunday, October 28, from 4:30 to 6:30 pm. The festivities begin on the playground and end with trick-or-treating among the classrooms. In between enjoy dinner in the Great Hall, crafts in the Taylor Room, and a costume parade through the church. Register online here: All Hallows Eve
Operation Christmas Child
Church School students are encouraged to participate in our Christmas outreach project, Operation Christmas Child. Members of the Church School Steering Committee will hand out boxes after the 9:15 am service on October 28, November 4, and November 11. Look for them on the playground, outside of Chapel, or in the Great Hall.

Each box includes instructions for how to fill it with gifts such as toys, hygiene items, and school supplies. The boxes are distributed to needy children around the world. Filled boxes must be returned to church no later than Sunday, November 18. For more information visit Samaritan's Purse.
Register for Church School Online
Register your children for Church School for the 2018-19 school year online using the link below.
Please complete the form with your child's name and parent contact information. You will need to complete the form for each child enrolling in Church School. Click ADD to register additional children.

Does Your Child Have Allergies?
Food is an important part of our Church School curriculum. Please let us know if your child has any food allergies. Children in preschool through first grade made name tags with parent contact information. You may write your child's allergies on his or her name tag so all teachers and high school assistants may readily see this information. Additionally, we will include this information in the class buckets. Please email Jane Fisher with information about your chid's food allergies.
