ECO’s Church Transformation process retrains pastors, refocuses leadership, and brings renewed vitality to our congregations. Church Transformation incorporates a Pastoral Learning Community, the creation and implementation of a Congregational Plan for Transformation, an on-site consultation option, and ongoing coaching. All components are vital for true transformation to occur.
We are excited to offer this opportunity on a broader scale to our churches in a virtual hybrid option. After receiving great feedback last fall, this will be our second year running this hybrid cohort. While the most successful way to run a Church Transformation Pastor Learning Community is in-person and with communal connections within a presbytery, it is improbable that each presbytery will move in a fully in-person direction. Therefore, we have created a hybrid experience for pastors, assistants and associates to join Pastor Learning Communities. It begins with a 3-day onsite kick off and then moves to virtual meetings and coaching.
The involved pastor(s) will take the information from these training sessions and share with their local session and lay leaders via videos and other related resource materials. Pastors will also meet over a year and a half to engage in book studies and discussions around topics such as evangelism, church and staff leadership, connecting visitors, time management, church life cycles, and more. Pastors will also spend time praying for and encouraging one another. During the meetings, related topics will be discussed along with activities to help participants make needed changes within their congregations and develop a Congregational Plan for Transformation.
