Good News Church Friends & Family,
This time last week, we were looking for a new space for our children's ministry. We really weren't sure what we were going to do, but God had a plan! We've excited to announce our new partnership with Toast & Jam Community (a co-working space located just a few doors down from Elixir) such that our kids can meet in their fantastic space! See photos below. There are additional happenings in the works, so we thought we'd bring you up to speed by having a brief Good News Church Vision Update THIS Sunday, Feb. 9 (10am). Be sure to join us!
Also, I want to say thank you to Jimmy Greer for sharing this past Sunday what growing in faith has looked like for him over these many years of walking in relationship with Christ. As you may know, Jimmy is undergoing chemotherapy for cancer (pancreas, liver, and lungs), and has been such an encouragement of faith to see the peace, joy, and hope that he has been experiencing while in this difficult journey. The audio and slides to Jimmy's talk should be available in the next day or two. To access those resources, click here.
LOCATION CHANGE: MEN'S MINISTRY & DINNER - THIS Wednesdays (6:30pm)
All men are invited to join us for dinner, connection, and conversation. If you haven't yet connected here, this is a great time to come check it out. We just started a video series by Tim Keller based on his best selling book, Reason for God. We usually meet at our Hillside Retreat House, but this Wednesday (2/5), we're meeting at the home of Jimmy & Leslie Greer (1600 Chase Ridge Lane, Lawrenceville GA 30043). For questions or to RSVP, email David Fearon.

ANNOUNCEMENTS
BABY ROCKERS - With our growing population of "little ones," we could use a few extra volunteers to join in the weekly rotation of helpers. We've got babies you can rock, toddlers you play with (or just sit with and watch a Bible story video), or elementary kids you can teach a ready-made Bible discussion and craft. For questions or to volunteer, email Laura or call / text at 770-364-4143.
THE MARRIAGE COURSE - Tuesdays (6pm) @ Elixir / Feb. 4 to March 18
Laura and I are partnering with Elixir Brew Co. (downtown Buford) to facilitate a “Love & Marriage Course” on Tuesdays (6pm - 8:30pm) from Feb. 4 to March 18. It includes dinner, great video-based content for building healthy marriage, and connecting conversations with your spouse. During our 21 years of marriage, we’ve participated in quite a few marriage courses, and this course is by far the best. Whether you’ve been married for 1 year, 10 years, or 40 plus years, this course is for everyone, and we think you’ll love it as much as we do. We've expanded capacity to 20 couples (currently 4 spaces remain), so if you’re interested, click here to see all the details (including a list of topics and a brief video preview) and/or reserve your spot. For questions, email Drue or call / text at 404-906-9117.

INSPIRATION
Verse of the Week
"My son, if you accept my words and store up my commands within you, turning your ear to wisdom and applying your heart to understanding — Then you will understand what is right and just and fair—every good path. For wisdom will enter your heart, and knowledge will be pleasant to your soul. Discretion will protect you, and understanding will guard you." - Proverbs 2:1-2, 9-11
Quotes of the Week
Reflecting on the above verses... “Store up’ God’s words within you. You need to ‘accept’ , listen and apply, ‘call out’ and ‘search’. ‘Searching for it like a prospector panning for gold, like an adventurer on a treasure hunt’. This takes time and commitment. Don’t just prioritize your schedule; schedule your priorities. Set aside a regular time to read the Bible and schedule it as a top priority.” - Nicky Gumbel (from Bible in One Year, Day 16)

VISION & VALUES
The vision of Good News Church GA is "to experience and express LOVE from God to others." The verse that undergirds our vision is Galatians 5:6b, “The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love.” We value people, community, relationships, prayer, and Bible reading. We also value being able to be yourself. We’re all struggling with something, so there’s no need to pretend that we have it all together.
-----------------------------------
MISSION
The mission of Good News Church GA is "to connect with people and build relationships through community workshops, neighborhood-focused ministry, serving local needs, mentoring, and worship."
