Special Action for Racial Justice
Tuesday, August 13, 7:00 pm at Northside Library
To recognize the realities of white privilege and honor one of NOW's core goals of ending racism, National NOW President Toni Van Pelt has suggested that NOW members read and discuss two books.

1 White Fragility, by Robin DiAngelo explores the counterproductive reactions white people have when their assumptions about race are challenged, and how these reactions maintain racial inequality.

2   So You Want to Talk About Race, by Ijeoma Oluo offers a hard-hitting but user-friendly examination of race in America.

Especially relevant as we come together for Unity Days this summer, Charlottesville NOW urges community members to read one or both of these NY Times bestsellers and join us at Northside Library on August 13 to discuss. Find them at your favorite bookseller or local library.
