This past Friday, on my day off, I attended a conference and met with my committee of LGBTQ+ psychiatrists and allies. We were all feeling the strain of current events.

St. James is a tuition-free Episcopal school for 4th - 8th graders located in the Allegheny West neighborhood of North Philadelphia.
Come hear about the impact St. Martin's is making on the St. James community. Soozung Rankin, Advancement Team, will lead next Wednesday's Adult Forum, “the Drive to Thrive.” Then, next Sunday, May 11th, Dave Kasievich, President and Head of School, will be preaching at all three services. There will also be an opportunity to peruse woodshop items made by St. James graduates and purchase St. James honey and Trappist preserves to support scholarships. Continue reading here.

CYF Service Day: Neighborhood Planting with Spruce Hollow
May 10th, 9 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. at Woodward Pines
Friends of Casey’s Ice Pond Park (AKA Woodward Pines) are welcoming our neighbors to a tree planting on May 10 9am-12 noon. Woodward Pines is located at the junction of Lincoln Drive, West Springfield Avenue and Navajo Streets. This is the inaugural event of our 2025 season of renewal and replanting of the park. Bring your shovels, wheelbarrows, gloves and enthusiasm, we have lots of things to plant! Refreshments will be provided.

Easter isn’t just a day, it’s a season—a season for rejoicing as we build up our community of faith and prepare to welcome the Holy Spirit into our midst at Pentecost. Easter Egg-Shells Collection
Thank you to everyone who came out for our Easter Egg Hunt! To make sure we have enough for Easter 2026, please bring any of the plastic egg shells back next time you're close by the church. There are two collection boxes set out, one in the Narthex (the covered entryway) at the nametag table, and one on your right as you open the glass doors to the Parish House.

Germantown Pet Pantry Supply Drive #2
Familiar Hearts Animal Society's next pop-up pet pantry will take place May 31st from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Demand was so great at their last pop-up pantry that supplies ran out while there were still people in line. Let's gather more supplies so that we can help as many pets and people as possible! Please bring donations to the white dresser in the Church or the Parish House lobby.
Donations of food, treats, litter, collars, leashes, carriers, and flea/tick preventative are especially needed. You can also view the pet pantry's Amazon wish-list here.
