Giving Tuesday
|
|
We'd like to wish our CiTY family a warm and happy holiday season and a happy Giving Tuesday. It has been a challenging year in many ways, and we hope that everyone has a chance to close out 2020 in the comfort of home and family. While many of us are fortunate to be financially stable and able to provide our children with the opportunity to play soccer and stay active, many others are not. For this reason, CiTY's 2020 Season of Giving is more important than ever. Providing the opportunity for kids to take a break and get outside to be active and healthy, in a safe way, is a top priority for CiTY. Donations made during this Season of Giving will directly impact the numbers of kids to whom we can provide this opportunity. Tax-deductible gifts made to Get On the Bus - Howard County, the CiTY Scholarship Fund, and the CiTY Special Needs Program directly benefit players by funding their time on the field as well as services off the field, which CiTY remains committed to providing to the entire CiTY community. Learn about how you can support these efforts below.
Read on to see CiTY's success in the fall tournament season, as well as how to get CiTY scarves, gaiters, and slides in time for the holidays.

CiTY Scholarship fund supports CiTY players in travel and REC with demonstrated financial need. With some families in our community facing extraordinary financial hardship during the pandemic, the CiTY Scholarship Fund will help keep more kids on the field, this year when they need it more than ever.

Get On the Bus (GOTB) breaks down financial and transportation barriers so that kids can play recreational soccer on a team in their community, while also learning valuable life skills and good study habits through this free afterschool program. Our vision is to make accessible to as many kids as possible the opportunity to participate in GOTB so that they can use what they learn on and off the field to become positive contributors to their communities.

CiTY Special Needs Program was suspended in 2020 due to COVID, but will continue as soon as it is safe to get back on the field. This signature CiTY program, which started when the club did in 2014 and is totally free to its participants, is a special and life-changing experience for everyone involved - players, coaches, mentors and volunteers.
