CiTY Newsletter - October 1, 2020
Happy Fall to our CiTY community! With our travel and REC programs in full swing, it has been a busy time for our club. We are very grateful for the return of fall soccer! The CiTY Leadership team wants to thank our CiTY families for trusting us and believing in our core philosophies these past several months. We always strive to make the best decisions to ensure not only the sustainability of the club, but most importantly, the safety and wellbeing of our players, coaches and staff. We are able to be back on the field, giving our players and their families a degree of normalcy, in large part due to your trust and commitment to the club last spring when we all had to take a leap of faith. Thank you!
CiTY Town Hall - November 8, 7:00 pm
CiTY Leadership will hold a virtual club-wide Town Hall on Sunday, November 8 at 7 pm to recap the fall season, share winter plans, and have a Q&A. Open to parents of current and prospective players in any CITY program.
CiTY COVID-19 Updates and Procedures

Thanks to our CiTY community for following our Return to Play Procedures and working together to create a safe environment for our teams and families. Remember that masks are required for players, families, and coaches when arriving to and departing from the field. Players are to stay distanced when not masked and spectators are required to wear masks at all times.

CiTY Fall 2020 Special Needs Program Postponed

After much consideration, we have made the difficult decision to postpone our CiTY Special Needs Program for Fall 2020. Our priority is always the health and safety of all participants, volunteers and families. Current social distancing and face covering requirements are too restrictive to run a safe, fun and effective program this fall. We are exploring strategies that will allow participants to virtually connect with our CiTY volunteers, as well as alternative ways to continue our Halloween event.

CiTY's Special Needs Program is a big part of our club and we will be patient and cautious as we continue to monitor guidelines and requirements to ensure that both participants and volunteers have a safe and fun environment when we do return to the field.

Desk Build for GOTB School, Talbott Springs Elementary

They asked for help, and the CiTY community answered! One of our four Get On the Bus (GOTB) MD schools, Talbott Springs Elementary School, contacted us last summer asking for help to build 25-30 desks for students who don't have an area at home for virtual learning. Thanks to our amazing CiTY community who understands the importance of development on and off the field, CiTY is funding $500 of this project from member and community donors, and sending volunteers this Saturday, October 3, to build desks at a socially-distanced group build alongside Talbott Springs staff and other community members.
