A female lesser kudu calf was born Monday morning! After vets and keepers did not observe nursing or much interest from first-time mom Sabi, they intervened to make sure the baby got vital nutrients and warmth. The goal is still to reunite mom and baby, but a temporary nursery has been set up in the barn so the Zoo’s neonate staff can provide supportive care. 

There will be ongoing construction in the Euclid parking lot (3301 Euclid Ave) as we install a new solar array. Please refer to the digital parking signs around the zoo to point you to available lots.

The Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden’s Sustainable Urban Landscapes symposium on March 14 is a full day of talks on anything having to do with urban landscapes and gardens. This long-standing and very highly rated symposium features the very best horticultural and sustainability experts who will give informational and inspirational talks on how our landscapes can create vibrant ecosystems and comfortable, safe, and friendly places to live and work that raise our well-being. For green industry and community planning professionals and also for interested gardeners, this symposium usually offers CEU credits for ASLA, APLD, ISA, OGIA, and PGMS.

Join us for our 5-week virtual series of lectures regarding all aspects of landscaping for the homeowner by one of the region’s top horticulturists and the zoo’s Director of Horticulture, Steve Foltz. If you are planning on garden renovation or a new installation in your landscape these classes provide great insight on design, preparation and plant selection with emphasis on plants that do best in the Tri-state area. A different aspect of landscaping is covered each week such as perennial design and tree care, but one way or another everything is covered!
