Denver Open Media is teaming up with
Latin Life Denver for this month's Open Music Sessions, our First Friday and Cinco De Mayo celebration!
FREE AND ALL ARE WELCOME!
Open Music Session will feature Los Lunaticos, plus the hilarious stylings of local comedians Jose Macall and Rick Bryan, live in Studio A, starting at 8 pm.
The Countdown Show starts upstairs at 7:30 pm, with free food from Sexy Pizza.

Photography and WordPress Classes!
May will feature some first-time educational offerings for Open Media Foundation.
The
Intro to Digital Photography class will cover the basics of shooting great photos using manual controls. Taught by Nikon instructor
Bob Pearson, class time will also be devoted to getting the most out of your digital camera.

OMP Launches Nationwide
T
he Open Media Foundation has launched the national rollout of Open Media Project (OMP)
,
a digital government transparency platform.
OMP empowers citizens to find out what's going on in their local government as easily as they would search for a local coffee shop.
After successfully implementing the OMP for the Colorado House and Senate, as well as 10 other municipalities in the state, this national rollout has the potential to significantly boost civic engagement within local governments across the country.

Open Media Lab
We received lots of feedback at the last member meeting that members wanted assistance making lower thirds and logos. Your wish is our command!
Brandon Stiller from our Video Production team will lead May's Open Media Lab helping you navigate the Adobe Creative Cloud to create graphics for your next production. We will be holding this OML on Thursday, May 18th at 6pm instead of the usual Wednesday evening. Come learn and collaborate with your fellow members!

Member Profile
Matt Struck is a writer and performer living in Denver who enjoys the overlap between comedy and spirituality. He has performed at the Voodoo Comedy Playhouse, The Mercury Cafe and the Oriental Theater.
His latest show - Really Late Night with Matt Struck - is about a fictional character (of the same name) who hosts a late night style show on community access. In front of the cameras he interviews fake celebrities, plays games, and tells jokes. Behind the camera his personal life is falling apart.
Follow Matt as he runs through life not knowing when the joke or the party is over.

Intendence Film Festival (IFF) is now accepting submissions through early May, 2017. DOM Members and students/youth get $10 OFF!!!
IFF will be screening films from Colorado and the rest of the world on Friday and Saturday, June 23 - 24, at Denver Open Media (DOM). Categories are: Animation, Art-Experimental, Feature, Short, Documentary, Documentary-Short, Music Video, Fantasy-Science Fiction-Horror, and Webisode.
