Our Story

The founder and curator of CinemaAntiques, Bill Reiter, started his collection of cinema artifacts, as a mere lad in film school, in the 1960’s.

He felt that these wonderful cameras and relics from the Golden Age of Hollywood were not only historically important but a treasure to own, enjoy and contemplate.

The collection grew over the years as he began to teach filmmaking and followed him in his work as a cinematographer and industry executive, from New York to Miami to Paris and then to Dallas.

From full blown vintage cameras that clients display in their homes or offices:
To vintage microphone relics:
To wonderful desk and bookshelf display pieces:
To amazing sculptural display lighting fixtures from days gone by:
To rare movie posters:
And to iconic & rare cinema film projectors:
...these iconic pieces directly link the collector / owner to the vintage film industry and are a pleasure to display and just look at. What great conversation starters these rare and iconic pieces are.

In our modern media rooms and home offices, these special pieces define a true love of cinema and speak to an appreciation of the tools used by the classic filmmakers from Hollywood and around the world.

CinemaAntiques has dedicated workshops, warehouses and galleries in Dallas Texas USA where we prepare, display and sell our rare Motion Picture Equipment Antiques.

Our Cinema Antiques are perfect for display in residential, industrial and museum settings. Collectors, film studios and museums worldwide are some of our clients.

Our Antiques also offer a unique sculptural look that is one of a kind and awe inspiring.

We offer one of the most complete and accurately curated selections of authentic Cinema Antiques, for sale, in the world.

Many of our items were used in actual Hollywood Feature Motion Pictures, and we can only imagine the Movie Stars and entertainment Giants that paraded both in front and in back of these lights and cameras.

As decorative “sculpture” or authentic Hollywood Cinema and Entertainment Memorabilia, our Cinema Antiques offer both a collectible and historical piece of the Hollywood Movie Industry, while at the same time presenting as an artistic and industrial piece of sculpture for your home, business or collection.

We offer a signed and sealed Certificate of Authenticity with all Vintage items sold.

Since the 1960’s, Bill has amassed a superb and rare ongoing collection of Vintage: movie cameras, Hollywood studio lights, film studio audio / microphones and other highly collectible artifacts of the Hollywood Film Production Industry.

We have done certified cinema movie equipment appraisals for Banks, have served as Expert Witnesses in the legal system and have given our expert guidance to various museums and collectors.

We specialize in CERTIFIED Cinema Antiques and Artifacts Circa 1890 to 1969 and beyond, representing the Art Nouveau, Machine Age, Art Deco, Industrial Age and Mid Century Periods.

All of our Antiques are guaranteed to be as described and photographed.

WHY CINEMA ANTIQUES ?

1. To honor and recognize the glorious equipment history of moviemaking and the Hollywood tradition of filmmaking from the early days of the art form.

2. To give everyone the opportunity to OWN a piece of the "Golden Age of Hollywood".

3. To keep this classic technology alive as beautiful display pieces, technical art and gorgeous and meaningful sculpture.

4. To offer these rare pieces for display as vintage art and sculpture in your home or office.

5. To design your everyday environment with 'industrial' antiques and artifacts that are cool, real, mean something AND that look uniquely beautiful.

6. To serve as a forum for appreciating and exploring the history of technical cinema creation from the beginnings to the current time.

7. To offer a source of the fast disappearing technologies of classic film production that are becoming true collectible museum pieces, never to be produced again.

Come and join us in the appreciation and
recognition of these Hollywood artifacts.

All of our antiques are guaranteed, in writing, to be as described and photographed.
