2024 Year in Review
OUR YEAR IN FIRST-RUN FEATURES:
- We presented over 3,000 screenings of 85 first-run titles, including over 1,000 open caption screenings!
OUR YEAR IN SPECIAL EVENTS:
- We presented 522 special events including weekly family films in our Cinema for Kids series every Sunday, monthly silent films with live organ accompaniment by Ben Model, monthly Pride Cinema picks, live comedy and live music in our Sky Room Cafe, classic films, horror films, cult favorites, author events, film festivals, and so much more!
OUR YEAR IN POPCORN:
- We sold enough popcorn to fill 4 Olympic-sized swimming pools
OUR YEAR IN 35MM:
- We ran 21 films on 35mm this year - nearly 2 per month! That's about 200,000 feet (nearly 38 miles) of film! That's enough film to stretch from Huntington to Manhattan, 5 times the distance to the bottom of the ocean or 668 football fields! (Special thanks to CAC Tech Director PJ Hanrahan for these estimations.)

We had many celebrities stop by the Cinema this year. Here are a few highlights:

OUR YEAR IN COMMUNITY:
- We presented 27 screenings supplementing curriculum for public schools, serving nearly 1,500 students, thanks to support from the Town of Huntington
- We provided a venue for young and first-time film-makers and connected emerging artists to vital resources
- We attracted about 75,000 visitors with both free and ticketed events
- We gave away dozens of free memberships to young people and hundreds of discounted tickets to seniors to help build a thriving multi-generational community center
- We were responsible for an estimated $7,000,000 in spending in our local economy because of visitors we attract and activity that happens because of our programs
- We used the power of film to advance causes of peace and justice
