FULL CIRCLE

October 2026 - Issue #12

We welcome Jim Gordon, Home Manager

We are delighted that Jim has joined the staff at Circle Home, taking on the role of Home Manager. He has a Masters degree in Gerontology and a BA in Aging Services. He was a hospice in-home volunteer for over ten years, and has worked in an array of house manager positions for Family Inc., Ulster ARC and other groups. He is currently board chairman of the Ulster County Resource Recovery Agency, and was a long time journalist in the Hudson Valley.

We say goodbye and thank you to Teri Payne, who has been our part-time Bookkeeper and Administrator for over eighteen months, working with the Finance Committee and our Treasurer as well as with everyone at Circle Home. She was very involved in the re-opening of Circle Home last December, and actively supports the vision and goals of Circle of Friends for the Dying. We wish her well as she moves on to new ventures.

We say thank you to Pamela

Pamela Timmins has served on the Circle of Friends for the Dying Board of Directors since July 2025. In September of this year she has decided to step down. She continues to volunteer with the Outreach Committee, providing information and connecting our community with Circle Home. Pamela is currently a facilitator for the monthly CFD Death Cafés. We thank her for her service on the Board and her continued work as a volunteer.

All are welcome for light refreshments at CFD Death Cafés. These are monthly gatherings where participants can relax in a community setting, where we eat treats, drink tea or coffee, and have facilitated conversations around dying and death. The café environment provides confidentiality for shared personal thoughts regarding the end of life. A Death Café is a group-directed conversation with no agenda or objectives. It is a discussion group, not a grief support or counseling session.

Admission is free, but we ask you to register in advance by clicking button below
