Reading Fun for Grown Ups!
Join us on June 8

for our
Adult Summer Reading Program Kickoff Carnival
with ice cream, face painting, and more behind the library!
Pick up your Bingo card at the library. It will include lots of fun ideas to keep you reading all summer. While you're going for BINGO, share your thoughts about what you've read on our Facebook group page.

Our summer reading program will end on August 3
rd
with a Potluck Luncheon at the Train Station. Bring a covered dish, and join fellow BINGO readers for a lively discussion of what you've read over the summer. Raffles will be held for those who have scored BINGO on their cards.

More literary-themed programming is being planned for later this year.
Four Seasons Books donated a beautifully illustrated edition of
Little Women
as our raffle prize - thank you!

Join us on Saturday, April 27 from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm!
Participants will attend a Potions class where they will create a Polyjuice Potion Slime, much like
the potions
on which Barty Crouch, Jr. was sipping throughout the book. We will also have a scavenger hunt featuring challenging riddles to solve, similar to Harry's experience during the third Triwizard challenge when he had to get past the Sphinx in the Labyrinth.

Another Year, Another Wonderful
"Rotary Reads" Grant Awarded to our Children's Department!
Thank you to the Rotary Club of Shepherdstown
for your grant award of $350. Your generosity will
be wisely used to
purchase book bags for children participating in the library's summer reading program. The Shepherdstown Rotary Club's
"Rotary Reads" grant program is one of several club activities aimed at enhancing literacy among local children. It consists of cash grants, awarded annually, to institutions for projects or programs that promote reading.
