FOSL Community Gathering: FOSL Plans for the Upcoming Year and New Library Designs and Project Timeline Revealed
Earlier this month, a capacity crowd of interested citizens was in attendance
at the War Memorial Building in Shepherdstown to hear about upcoming FOSL events and membership opportunities from FOSL President Rob Sisk. Anyone interested in joining FOSL or volunteering in any capacity should contact the library!
|
|
Following Rob's presentation, Library Director Hali Taylor, the library's Project Architect, Jessica Damseaux, and Owner's Representative, Chuck Hydorn, provided the audience with a project update, up-to-the-minute building designs, and
current project timeline. The Children's Department, Young Adult area, Media Lab, STEM Lab, and smaller meeting rooms will be located on the lower level. The Adult Department, with designated reading and program areas, green roof viewing platform, and large Common Room, which can be partitioned into separate smaller meeting areas, will be found on the second floor. An elevator and two separate stairways will connect the two floors.

|
Some of the many outdoor features include an Event Patio/Terrace, a Reader's Garden, Children's Story Garden, Green Roof, and Solar Panels. The latest architectural renderings,
floor plans, and the most current site plan of the
new facility can be viewed at the library.
