Recycling of Walnut Logs

One of the great delights about our new library site was the abundance of big walnut trees that we just had to recycle. To make the best use of this natural resource, the giant logs were loaded up in a truck for transfer from our site to The Folly where they will be transformed into many outdoor benches.

Special thanks to the wonderful Linda Shea for overseeing this effort and to the skillful Bob Keller for his effective and impressive use of a chainsaw.

April is National Poetry Month!

And, we are celebrating with blackout poetry. Here is how you can participate:

1) Stop by the library to pick up a printed page from a book, or use your own page.
2) Create your poem by picking out specific words on the page. Then, make
a drawing, or simply cross off the rest
of the words.
3) Return your creation to the library,
or email your poem to Sarah Brumback, and we'll put it on display!
Can you guess which classic book our example came from?
