Welcome New Friends of Shepherdstown Library (FOSL) Officers!

Robert (Rob) Sisk, President
Rob retired to Shepherdstown just over one year ago for the natural beauty, artistic energy, and relaxed pace of life this area has to offer. Rob and his wife, Anita, relocated from Pittsburgh, PA where Rob worked as a Nuclear Engineering and International Marketing Specialist. Rob previously served in the U.S. Navy for ten years.

Says Rob, "Throughout my life, I have been an avid reader and know how much that "habit" has expanded my knowledge, perspective, and life enjoyment. I know how important a community library is to all and am happy to contribute to the growth and expansion of FOSL's contribution to literacy in Shepherdstown.
As the newly elected President of FOSL, I am looking forward to this coming year! Over the next year it is anticipated that the Shepherdstown Library will be growing to better serve the community. As the Library grows, FOSL is looking forward to working with Library staff to assure the library not only remains a vital and viable community resource, but also successfully enhances its ability to better serve our community.
With this in mind, FOSL goals are:
- to enhance community engagement with the Shepherdstown Library;
- to increase community awareness of library services and activities;
- to assist library staff in strengthening and expanding library services commensurate with the area's needs; and
- to coordinate volunteers and raise funds for programs in support of the community.
This year FOSL will work to expand and strengthen programs that address the needs and interests of our community."
