What's Happening at Citrus County Parks and Recreation

Featured Park:

Fire Station Park

8950 W. Homosassa Trail Homosassa, FL 34448

Fire Station Park got a big makeover this year! We've replaced the old playground equipment with a totally new one that's way more fun. It has lots of cool stuff to climb on, slide down, and swing from, so kids of all ages will have a great time. But it's not just any old playground - there are also cool things to play with that help kids use their imagination and be creative, so parents can relax while their kids have a blast.

If you're looking for a fun place to take your family, definitely check out Fire Station Park's playground!

KIDS FISHING CLINIC

12073 W. Fort Island Trail Crystal River, FL

Citrus County Parks and Recreation is thrilled to announce the 20th Annual Kids Fishing Clinic to be held on February 17th at Fort Island Trail Park. This free event has been a cherished community tradition for nearly two decades, providing families with an opportunity to spend quality time together while also educating children about the importance of Florida's coastal ecosystems.

This year, we have expanded the learning stations to include a broader range of topics, such as freshwater and saltwater fish habitats, tackle and accessories, and rules and regulations. Additionally, we are excited to introduce two new activities: Little Fry's Activities, a program tailored to toddlers, and the Aquatic Art Outdoors Gallery.

At Parks and Recreation, we are committed to creating unforgettable experiences for children through the 20th Annual Kids Fishing Clinic. For further details about the event, please get in touch with Recreation Program Specialists Alice Mary Herden at alice.herden@citrusbocc.com or Amanda Purnell at amanda.purnell@citrusbocc.com.
