City Public Health Officials Advise Community on Dangers of Fentanyl

The City of El Paso Department of Public Health (DPH) is urging residents, especially teens, to be aware of the dangers of Fentanyl.
Fentanyl is a synthetic opioid that is 50-100 times stronger than morphine, approved for treating severe pain, typically advanced cancer pain, and this medication is prescribed and managed by the treating physician. Health officials report that most recent cases of fentanyl-related overdoses and deaths in the U.S. are linked to illegally made fentanyl.

El Paso Animal Service's welcomes new veterinarian, Dr. Antony Chacon!
Dr. Chacon is a borderland-native who grew up in Anthony, New Mexico, attended Gadsden High School and graduated with a bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences from New Mexico State University. He moved to London, England to attend the University of London-Royal Veterinary College for his degree in Veterinary Medicine in 2014, thereafter practicing veterinary medicine in the United Kingdom. He moved back to El Paso to be closer to family and is excited to bring his knowledge and skills back to his community.

New COVID-19 Booster Vacine |
On September 20, all Community Clinics began administering the new Bivalent COVID-19 booster vaccine to individuals 12 years and older.
The new booster vaccine provides better protection against COVID-19 caused by the omicron variant.
