City expands presence at international shopping center conference
City officials network with international retailers and developers
From May 21 to May 24, several city staff and councilmembers traveled to the largest conference of developers, retailers and cities in the world to represent San Gabriel.

Known as the Real Estate Convention (RECon) in Las Vegas, Nevada, this conference - hosted by the International Council of Shopping Centers - allowed attendees to develop important connections with other industry influencers. For San Gabriel, this convention allowed city staff and councilmembers to network with developers and retailers that could potentially help develop underutilized land in the city.

Smith Park Pool now open
The coolest place in town is now open! Swim lessons began at Smith Park Pool on Monday, June 5. The pool opened for public recreation swim on Tuesday, June 6 - just in time to beat the heat. Come on over and bring your friends for a refreshing swim now through August 18. Summer operating hours for recreation swim are Tuesday evenings from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 1:00 to 3:30 p.m.

Did you know we also operate a wading pool at Smith Park? This year, our wading pool hours are daily from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Little swimmers ages 6 and younger are welcome in the wading pool. Supervision is not provided, and wading pool hours may be reduced if additional restrictions are imposed due to the statewide drought.
