Join Fielder and his quartet as they perform a variety of original jazz compositions as well as rare jazz classics. We hope to see you there!

Jazz Nights series concludes this Thursday
Dale Fielder will be performing rare jazz classics and standards
The Jazz Nights series concludes in front of the Mission Playhouse tomorrow, August 10 at 6:30 p.m. The Dale Fielder Quartet will be performing alongside guest vocalist Rita Edmond. First appearing on the national jazz scene in 1993, Dale Fielder is a renowned saxophonist, composer and band leader with 16 recorded CDs.

Public Works releases project status report
Report offers a look at major projects within the city
A look at Del Mar Avenue
The city's Public Works department has just released their project delivery report for the month of August. This report provides a look at all of the projects currently taking place within the city, including an overview of the Great Streets program.
Police department starts a new National Night Out tradition 
This year's event was held in the Mission District
Featuring over 2,500 attendees gathered in the heart of the historic Mission District, this year's National Night Out marked a new tradition for the San Gabriel Police Department. While previous events centered on intimate neighborhood visits from the police department and the fire department, this year's celebration featured a large block party in front of the Mission Playhouse.

San Gabriel sales tax receipts up 1.2%
Increase attributed to new quick service/casual dining openings
According to sales tax receipts collected from January through March, sales were 1.2% higher compared to the same quarter a year ago. New quick service and casual dining eatery openings, along with higher net sales, helped boost revenue for restaurants and hotels.

San Gabriel Educational Foundation seeks new board members
Members will oversee organization's financial accountability
The San Gabriel Educational Foundation is currently looking for new board members. These members will be tasked with overseeing the organization's financial well-being and accountability.

Interested candidates can attend the next board meeting on August 28 at 7:00 p.m. at the San Gabriel Unified School District Office. Please contact the foundation's office at 626.451.5465 if you would like to attend the meeting to learn more about the organization.


Playhouse's historical costume intern preserves a piece of theater history
Laila Jaffer is tasked with preserving & documenting costumes
As this year's historical costume intern for the San Gabriel Mission Playhouse, Laila Jaffer is tasked with cleaning, documenting and storing costumes in the Playhouse inventory dating back to the early 1900s.
