Good Afternoon,
'Tis the season, and we have the ultimate guide to the holidays in San Gabriel. Plus, share your holiday photos from now through the new year using #mySGholidays.

Here's what else is going on in San Gabriel this week.
Share holiday traditions and memories
#MySGHolidays campaign asks community to submit photos
On Dec. 6, the community will come together to kick off the holiday season in San Gabriel at the annual Tree Lighting Ceremony, but that's just the beginning of the celebrations.

Families across the community celebrate the holidays in their own way, with their own special traditions. Many of these traditions go back generations, and the holidays can be a fun time to relive great family memories.

The City of San Gabriel wants to share in those special memories, too. This holiday season, the city invites community members to share their holiday photos to help spread cheer and bring the community together.

Share photos from now through New Year's Day on social media using the #MySGHolidays tag, or send your photos directly to the city via social media direct message or email at [email protected]. The city will pick the best photos and share them on social media.

Padilla Street to close at Santa Anita Street
Beginning next week, Padilla Street will be closed to through traffic for approximately two months, 200 feet west of Santa Anita Street. Residents of Padilla Street will only be able to access their homes from the west via Mission Drive or Alanmay Avenue.

The closure is a test for a proposed permanent closure related to a new medical office building that will be developed on the northwest corner of Santa Anita and Padilla. The proposed closure is part of the city's effort to ease the impact on traffic in the surrounding neighborhood, at the request of residents.

Both the temporary and proposed permanent closure will still allow for emergency access.  For more information, contact Public Works Director Daren Grilley at 626.308.2825.
