Join us in welcoming (and re-welcoming) our City Council members in the new year! During the January 8 organizational meeting, re-elected Council members Dean Hove, Becky Norton, and Erin Buss were sworn in, along with newly-elected member Laurel Stinson. In addition, Dean Hove and Evan Brown were elected Council President and Vice-President, respectively. Your representatives are excited and ready to work for you-- contact them directly and have your voice heard.
Just Keep Skating...
Did you know that Red Wing has not one but three outdoor ice rinks? Two are located at the Athletic Field, with the third located at the Carol Ann Pirius South Park.

No skates? No problem!
The warming houses at both rinks offer free skate rentals during their open hours-- 4-8 p.m. Monday through Friday and 1-8 p.m. on weekends.
Red Wing 2040 Community Plan
Give comments & suggestions now before 20-year plan is complete.
Now is the time to give your final feedback on Red Wing's 20-year community plan. The draft will come before the Planning Commission and City Council in February so there's still time to weigh in with your thoughts. We want to hear from you!

The Red Wing 2040 web page shows the plan divided by chapters so you can easily look at the sections most important to you. Read the draft here.
Provide your feedback to redwing.2040@ci.red-wing.mn.us or call Brian Peterson at 651-385-3617.

The Cozy Up & Read program is in full swing over at the Red Wing Public Library. All throughout January, swing by the Library to get involved in the program and receive a bag full of fun goodies, including a notebook, packet of hot chocolate, and more! Adorable, themed cups--complete with spoon--are available for purchase as well; perfect for any book lover or writer.
Bored? Join a Board
Can joining a board or commission change your life? It can--if you ask Sustainability Commission member, Laura Wildenborg. She talks about how volunteering her time on this board led to new connections in her life, all while helping our community and environment, too. There are still openings on this commission; apply today. Is this your year to make new connections?
