FREE Sticker With Every Vote!
You can register on Election Day at your polling place! Here's what you need to do.

Red Wing, we've got a good track record--let's make it even better. During the last primary and special election last August, more than twice as many people voted as in the previous primary. We want this election's results to be even BIGGER!

But wait, there's more... City Hall and the Goodhue County Government Center will have extended hours to vote early :

Saturday, Nov. 3, 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. Monday, Nov. 5, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Want to save even more time? Then direct ballot at the Goodhue County Government Center.
Paving the Way
Road Construction Updates
Whew, we know there's a lot of road construction.
But good news--the end is in sight!
Highway 61/Spring Creek Road
The west end of North Service Drive and driveways on Spring Creek Avenue North are finally paved. East end graveling is underway, with the middle of the road up next. Lights are now installed and ready along South Service Drive, and more lights will be added along North Service Drive in the coming weeks. Another bonus: the streetlight at the Hwy 61/Spring Creek Rd. intersection is scheduled to be added mid-November.
More details about the project are available here.
9th, 10th, 11th & Bush Streets
On 11th Street, utility work is finished and grading can begin over the weekend. On Ninth Street and South Park Street, curbs and driveways are finished and sidewalks are scheduled for completion. Bush Street is still undergoing bacteria testing, but storm water sewers are finished and grading happens early next week.
It's been a long haul for all the neighbors--we appreciate your patience!

Gift Makes Big Splash
It's here, Red Wing! Our first splash pad is complete and will be opening in the spring. You'll find it right next to the Athletic Field playground on Mason Street. Watch this video to take a tour of the splash pad and learn how this generous gift from the Red Wing Area Fund came to be.
Signs of Tribute
Did you know Red Wing is now a Purple Heart Community? Our city is part of the nationwide Purple Heart Trail, which honors recipients of the Purple Heart medal. Soon you'll start seeing these signs to show our Purple Heart Community status. Funds were provided through the generosity of four groups representing more than 1,300 local veterans.

The signs were dedicated to the City of Red Wing during the City Council meeting on Monday, October 22. You can watch it here.

To our veterans, thank you for your service.
City Earns Recognition for Bridge Project
Constructing the new bridge connecting Minnesota to Wisconsin at Red Wing is a massive undertaking, with hundreds of variables, regulations, and workers. While it's a Minnesota Department of Transportation project, the Governor's Office just recognized the City of Red Wing for its contributing efforts on this endeavor.

This nomination was brought forward by the Red Wing Chamber of Commerce. We gratefully accept this recognition from the Governor and share it with all of you who've been affected by the construction. Your patience and cooperation have helped make this project smooth and successful so far.

Follow bridge progress by signing up for updates here.

Not All Heroes Wear Capes
Sometimes an everyday person, living their everyday life, seizes the opportunity to do something exceptional. Such is the case with Amanda Anderson from Red Wing. She provided vital assistance to the Red Wing Police Department and helped a family involved in a car crash. Police Chief Roger Pohlman recognized Ms. Anderson for her help during the Monday, October 22, 2018, City Council meeting. Watch it here.
Steps to a Beautiful Future
300 daffodils, 189 steps, and
112 woodland plants--oh my!

The Kids Count program of Hope Coalition has been hard at work beautifying the Fourth Street staircase leading to the Goodhue County Historical Society. Kids Count works with youths affected by violence, and the whole group took charge of creating something beautiful. This upcoming spring, stop by the staircase to see a colorful display of more than 400 plants and flowers planted by these young volunteers!
