Super Saturday at the Library
Image of a young woman holding a glowing open book in a darkened library aisle
You didn't need a reason to be excited for this Saturday, Feb. 15, but the Red Wing Public Library will give you THREE!
  • At 10:30 a.m., the folks (and creatures) of the RAD Zoo return for a visit. Free and open to all ages.
  • In recognition of Red Wing Reads month, and with immense thanks to the generosity of City Council members Erin Buss and Laurel Stinson, the library will be waiving up to $1000 worth of fines on a first-come, first-serve basis.
  • Finally, every person that visits the library on Saturday will receive a free book, while supplies last. What's Red Wing Reads month without some reads?
So come early for a book and fine waiver and stay for some rad reptiles. We hope to see you on Saturday!

Body-Worn Cameras Coming to Red Wing
Image of body worn cameras proposed for use by RWPD
At Monday's meeting, the City Council unanimously approved the Red Wing Police Department's body-worn camera policy, which allows for their implementation. Body-worn cameras increase accountability between officers and citizens and better document their interactions. See Police Chief Pohlman's most recent presentation to the City Council right here.
We ALL Count, Red Wing!
If someone offered you thousands of dollars for completing a confidential 10-question survey, you'd do it, right? And you'd tell your family and friends to do it, too. That's exactly what completing this year's 2020 Census does for our community. It's money that goes towards our roads, our schools, and our community.
10 questions. 10 minutes.
Earn our share of 15.5 billion federal dollars.
Fill out the Census.

In partnership with Live Healthy Red Wing , the City is excited to announce that we've received a Safe Routes to School (SRTS) Engineering Studies Grant. With the help of this grant, our SRTS team will study School Speed Zones at Sunnyside and Twin Bluff Schools and hopefully create new, slower speed zones to make walking and biking to school safer for our students.
