Budget Workshop This Monday
This year has been a unique year for budgeting, and a few unexpected changes in residential and utility valuations have affected these last months of planning. Our budget website page will get you up to speed on what's been happening--and link you to all the documents you may want.

The next budget workshop is this Monday, November 19, at 6 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers. It's one of the final meetings where Council members will be discussing issues before their final vote on December 3. Members of the public are always welcome. Or, if you don't want to come down to City Hall, watch the meeting live on Channel 6 from your TV, phone, or any device. You can also go to our website, click on the "Meeting Agendas & Videos" icon, and watch the meeting anytime at your convenience.
Our video gives you a primer on the basics of a city government budget.

This plan is all about the town where you live (or work), and it directly shapes decisions to come. All in a Day's Work
Taronda Howard puts the "resource" in Human Resource Specialist. There is no "typical day" for the City's HR maven; new challenges arise constantly, which is just how she likes it. In addition to posting open jobs, reviewing applicants, setting up interviews, and overseeing the on-boarding process for new employees, she also handles time management, personnel policies, and assists with legal compliance during hiring . The best part of her job? "I really like being able to help people," she says. "I wanted a job with a broader, positive impact for people." She's certainly doing that--if you're in the market for a new job, be sure to check on the City's website for job postings and you might just get a call from Taronda!
