Annual Celebrate Our Heritage Walk and Bike to L.A.
In 1781, a group of early settlers known as Los Pobladores made the great trek from the San Gabriel Mission to what is now Olvera Street and founded what became the bustling city of Los Angeles. Their historic walk birthed the Los Angeles region, and on Aug. 27 locals will reenact that journey to honor the region's history.

The nine-mile Celebrate Our Heritage Walk and Bike to L.A. begins at 6 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 27. Registration is free and will be available on the morning of the event.
